I saw a video on twitter of this dude with this tiny hairless cat and honestly it's adorable

I wouldn't go out of my way to have a hairless cat but if I ended up with one I wouldn't be mad.

I wonder how they keep warm if they are living in a cold climate. Do people put coats on them to go outside?

They probably don't let them outside at all.

I know many city dwellers keep their cats indoors all the time partly because they live in apartment blocks so access in/out is all but impossible and, even when out, there's nowhere safe for a cat to go.

Maybe some people put them in coats and take them out on a leash? I wouldn't want an unsupervised cat outdoors wearing a coat, I'd worry it was a tangle hazard. There's soft-release catches on cat collars these days in case of entanglement, but on cat coats ... I dunno.

I would say you are probably right Fifi . I am all for keeping cats in, my two are house cats as we live in a town.

Have actually just googled them, quite cute remind me of the Siamese, which we had several of years ago. These hairless cats are quite eye wateringly expensive so I should imagine you would not be letting them out at all.

I hate this idea some people have of chucking the cat out at night as they think it is the proper thing to do. It makes me cringe to think of them out in the cold in all weathers.

I mean, I definitely wouldn't be letting it outside if I had one. And I would ABSOLUTELY have an array of adorable sweaters for them!

Ha! I like that.

Actually, to be honest, dare I say this, will I get piled by outraged cat lovers ..... ?

I think the ones without hair look a bit grotesque and I wouldn't want to own one.

There, I said it.

On a totally unrelated note:

I'm bloody well fed up to the back teeth of Lockdown (again) with no end in sight.
I've had quite enough of Winter already with it's ceaseless grey skies and rain and mud.
I've overdosed on watching TV and tidying out cupboards.

All in all ............ AAAAAGHHHHH !!!

I am in the exact same boat. This second lockdown is really messing with me mentally. It could be that it is winter, but I think more of it has to do with the fact that for a long time we couldn't go outside due to all the ice (a lot of people who did do activities outside ended up hurt and even one of my friends ended up in a wheelchair). And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

My only real quips with the lockdown thing are as follows:

- I never know what day it is
- I never know what year it is
- I can't touch my tictacs unless I wash them first or let them sit for three days

It's been nearly a year and I don't feel suffocated by being stuck inside. In fact, the other day was the first time I stepped foot outside in about three weeks because I quit smoking.

I miss it tbh

I have also since been outside to get wood for the fireplace. I like fire.

There will likely be a day you look back and think "wtf was I doing, smoking was nasty af". I think I'm going on 7 or 8 years of being a non-smoker.

Also, I have retained my job throughout this whole thing, so I can't relate to the rest. Honestly, I kind of wish I did lose my job though, because COVID would be a great fallback reason for any future emplpyera.
