So a woman has to bare the child of her rapist.

Can you see why she would want to abort?

It really doesn't matter what lives are shattered just so long as religious dogma is satisfied.

Take the (not uncommon in some parts of the world) cases of very young girls who are capable of getting pregnant but incapable of giving birth safely due to their overall physical immaturity.
But they are obliged to carry on with the pregnancy anyway, complications arise, both child-mother and child/foetus die.

Oh dear, how tragic, never mind, we all followed 'God's teaching' that every life is sacred.
And, of course, they'll be reunited in heaven and live happily ever after according to our cosy fairy story.

I am sure that thought is of great comfort to the parents of the 12 year old girl child who was raped by a total stranger on her way home from school.

I am curious, where does it say that you can or can't abort a fetus?
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

Now defend that 1, if you can

Don't know how much truth there is to it, but the article suggests that it is dangerous.

The panel said aborting the foetus, said to be healthy, would have endangered the girl's life and was "not an option at this stage".

Later on in the article it also says that giving birth is dangerous to her as well, but does not speak to how dangerous an abortion is in comparison to a birth. I would assume an abortion would be less risky, but I am not a doctor - and I thought they would have tried to refute the claim of the abortion being dangerous.

I just don't know how people can say it is right or wrong, it is up to the people involved what happens and not anyone else.

If its just a slapper that gets pregnant on a monthly basis or so and thinks "not too worry, i'll just get rid" then that can be seen as wrong but if there are some reasons for it then it can not be seen as wrong, reasons like what Feefs mentions or some serious complications to the childs life after birth should never been seen as a bad thing.

I feel very strongly about this issue because my sister had to abort her child at 25 weeks because the hospital found out really late that her whole back had not formed and her spine was showing from top to bottom, doctors advised this, my sister did not really want too but she knew that the baby would never have any kind of normal life, nobody can tell me that what my sister done was murder or wrong.

I am not making a stance for or against abortion, really.

Shady actually already publicly outed my stance on the issue, and it likely isn't the one you are thinking of.

Basically anything that's child abuse. Especially if the abuse is extreme, in which case the unlikely day comes that the perpetrator dies slowly and agonisingly this is how happy I will be.

In fact, anyone who inflicts long-term abuse on anyone, such as keeping them hostage, psychological abuse, battering or anything that comes into that ilk, I put into that category. Especially people who do that to their families. But bear in mind that this only comes to play if the perpetrator is unrepentant. They have to deliberately seek to cause this suffering before I give absolute condemnation.
