"Freedom of speech" is often used as an excuse to be hostile especially when things get personal. I do believe that words should be challenged with words though (if people are mature enough to challenge a viewpoint without resorting to personal attacks) instead of silencing or isolating people from society just because we disagree with them. Everybody has a right to voice their opinion, not without potential challenge of course (unless they were asked, in which case I think the onus is on the person who did ask to accept this).

As long as it's not hate speech - yes it's important.
What is hate speech, how should it be controlled, and how do you determine what's hate speech and what isn't? How can you guarantee that those with the power to limit "hate speech" don't continually expand the definition?
The Army is a great experience; it sucks so much that literally nothing else will seem as bad in comparison.
