you're an idiot; that's the first amendment, not the ideal of free speech. everyone who's interested in a functioning society should protect and advocate for freedom of expression; if you fail on this, you're either a thoughtless tool or an active participant in barbarism. improve yourself.

LMAO talk about projection!!!

I said I have no obligation to pay for your protection, that is all.

Your ideal about free speech is as naive as the communist ideals that everyone who don't think the Nanny State should provide free food for the population want people to starve. Guess what "free food from the State" lead to? Millions of people starving!!

I will defend your right to spout out your nonsense about some utopian ideal about free speech. But if you are that stupid to think you should be able to say just about anything without responsibility for your words... Don't blame me when reality catches up with you.
Your school indoctrinated you. Wake up.

I think your making a few mistakes in your assumptions.

Good is referred to as an objective, moral choice rather than good being a subjective "works in my favor" sort of deal.

Secondly, I'll nip this in the bud. Your assuming my political stance and that I am American (due to the naming of specific Television hosts that represent ideas from the party you don't like?). Please don't, I find it somewhat insulting that you assume that other people don't have the ability to think outside of a polarized political landscape.

Back to free speech, if there's no line on what is acceptable with free speech. Then propaganda is objectively good and ok, just like the rest of free speech.
But manipulating people through propaganda isn't good, in my opinion.
So there exists a line at which freedom of speech is no longer good. The location of this line is not up to one person alone but the community/country/social group that they exist.

no, what you have is an obligation to pay taxes. the state then decides how to use your tax money. if a public speaker is scheduled for an event and requires police protection, your taxes can be used for that. if a public demonstration is held, the police will probably have some presence there.

wow. is English your first language? please explain how maximizing free speech leads to mass starvation.

really, the situation is exactly the opposite: it's ideologies like communism that clamp down on free expression and other liberal ideas/mechanisms that allow for the scientific innovations that lead people out of starvation (sometimes to another extreme, i.e. obesity being a major problem in the developed world).

it's not a utopian ideal, it's the status quo in the United States: with some exceptions, free expression is enshrined in our law. unfortunately our culture has deteriorated somewhat, to the point that we have thoughtless tools who can say something as stupid as "free expression only applies to the government," among other garbage-tier ideas.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

*theft, not taxation

edit: besides, if all you can do is taking what I say out of context, I won't waste my time on you. You are a hopeless case.
