Well they did make a prequel of AB in the form of a LN:

Angel Beats! Track Zero
''The light novel is the official prequel to the anime series.
It tells the story of how Yuri and Hinata meet, how they find out about "Angel" and the other characters and how the SSS was founded.''
(Source:MAL)

Although I have not read it yet, so I cant say if its any good, but we might get to see an anime of it in the future? Who knows :P

Well if i had to take a complete guess i would say that anime originated from japan, since the majority of them are adaptations of manga which also comes from japan (the chinese equvilent for manga are manwa (massive change in the name i know))
but that is just i guess and a may be wrong

Balefired here, chiming in again:

Serial Experiments Lain: A-/A
Texhnolyze: B+/A-
Neon Genesis Evangelion: A+, 10/10, one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. I watched the last 20 episodes in a row and The End of Evangelion last night because it was so ******* good. It was like a book that I couldn't put down. I particularly liked how almost all the characters were 'damaged goods' and how well the show dealt with their internal stuggles. They kinda went overboard with the heavy handed Christian imagery in the movie, but that's only a small quibble.
