Yes and no. While the crux of the story is based around the concept of proving that magic did not occur on Rokkenjima in the October of '86, that dosent necessarily mean that magic as a whole dosent have the potential to exist.
Dont forget, Umineko is the sequel to Higurashi (although it may not look it at first), and based on that alone you can already confirm some aspect of magic to exist (the whole affair with Hanyuu and the Sea of Fragments and all that).
For now, you can pretty much safely ignore this aspect of the story though, its only really important once you get into Umineko Chiru.

Right, Jesse.
Though you have to love that one theory about how the numbers are on the island. The fact of 17 people on the island or not. I would talk more about it but Hawk shouldn't get those spoilers. You can't help but say how clever it all is when it's over. It literally gives you all of these hints and signs but you never care to notice.
Despite not getting it myself, I heard the whole epilogue to the story in Chiru was immensely disappointing for fans.

@TheCjGuy: The epilouge of just the final episode. I was chatting to a guy at a convention who said that the story basically wraps itself up in the second arc and the last one is just a series of puzzles or something.
Maybe it's something like the last Higurashi game (which involved a sort of timeline puzzle), i cant say for sure since im still waiting for witch hunt to finish their translation before i read the final two arcs.

Some hasn't started yet.
FLCL I think has a new season.
Stein's Gate I heard is out
I heard Sket Dance was out
I heard of a sci-fi slice of life I'm really into because in the first episode one character within a few minutes makes three references to Mother.
Anime:
Steins;Gate

I totally forgot the 9 others I heard of. srry

No, its all pretty much started unless your counting OVA's, but they aren't released by season anyway.
Yes, Sket Dance and Steins;gate are out (both are up to episode 7). There are also another (approx) 40 anime airing this season. And no, there is no new seasons for FLCL.
The Sci-fi slice of life your referring to is probably Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko, though i would more call that a slice of life with a sci-fi motif.
