OVA's are a good chance to chuck in some of the fillery chapters from the novel that would have de-railed the overall story. Since its pretty hard to keep telling the story within the confines of a few episodes, they probally just took that option.

And is Corpse Princess any good. Ive got the first set of it coming over from the US in my 3 times a year anime shopping spree (anime shelf gets heavier, wallet gets significantly lighter).
I haven't really heard anything much about it save for the characters aren't all that interesting (source is ANN though, and they are all the mist cynical reviewers ive ever seen..) but the idea of a zombie running around with MAC 11's intrigued me.
