Seriously though, are there ANY good characters in this anime or is everyone a mindless murdering lunatic?!
Except Satoshi, the teacher and the photographers.
Well, yes and no, it depends on exactly how you define your good guys and bad guys. Lets just say that not everyone is quite as good or bad as they are made out to be.
If you think about it almost all the murders that take place, done by the children, are to either safe themselfs or save a friend -ignore crazy Shion, she doesn't count as one of the children untill season 2- so almost all of them are good* or bad from any point of view.
^. Cannot tell it would ruin the plot.

Which is why i said its a matter of how you define it. Even Meakashi's Shion has some claim to innocence, but if your not gonna give it to her then you cant really give it to anyone, if you understand what i mean.
As for what the drug does, I cant tell you THAT either. If i did, ide spoil one of the major parts of the story.

Well Shion is only seeking for revenge after they took her away for so much time so for me, atleast during the first season, she is not trying to safe, protect, or do anything other than revenge Satoshi.
Maybe so, but you cant exactly say this is a normal act of revenge brought on sole* by a feeling of anger or malice either. If the case came to court she would be aqquited on account of being a whack-job.
EDIT:
@Zuriel: AND THEN, once you've watched higurashi to the end and are sure you've got it figured out, your STILL wrong because theres more to the 'truth' of Higurashi in Umineko

Lets just say, 'If you think you've finally figured out what is going on in Higurashi, you're most likely wrong.'
Other than that, I've found the anime which I am going to watch next, Zero No Tsukaima; seen the first 5 episodes already and I love it :3
^Jesse B77: Haha yeah, I've still yet to watch Umineko, I think I completly forgot about it. (Btw what does umineko actually mean? Sea-Cat? haha :3)
