Just watched When They Cry episode 17. I can watch ANYTHING.
SPOILERS:
EXCEPT fingernails being ripped off, whenever I watch a movie or anything like that, I can watch fingers being cut off, heads rolling, arms cut off, disembowelment etc...
But, for some reason, fingernails are too much.
Damn it!

Lol, yeah, your not the only one who's like that. Practically everyone cringes when they see the nail-ripping part for the first time, even when they aren't usually bothered by gore.
So, wanna take a guess who/what the suspect is yet?

It's near enough Romeo and Juliet because it is about love taken to EXTREME lengths.
SPOILERS:
Shion loves Satoshi but there families are locked in a bitter fued and as such, Shion as punishment for falling in love is tortured and placed in the prison torture chamber.
Kinda skipped to episode 21 for the torture scene. :P
Also, it doesn't matter how many times I watch nail ripping, it can't happen. I have seen surgery of all kinds and still nail ripping just takes it too far. :O
EDIT:
I didn't even know why she was being tortured up until couple episodes ago, now it makes sense.

I am watching individual episodes as well, but, got a little cryptic and so, skipped to the episode. :P
Only 4 more episodes to go officially until I reach that episode. :|

But seriously, subbed would be a better option. The dub dosent do as good with the hints and clues, and since higurashi Kai, Rei and Kira (seasons 2 -4) are sub only anyway, you might as well get used to the sub-voices now. And its not like you can skip them, you cant finish the story without Kai, which makes up the last two arcs.
But seriously, go back and watch them chronologically, you just missed my favorite part (end of episode 20).
