And then after that episode they go straight back to filler for a few months.

@Jesse: I saw the first two commentaries a few weeks ago, I'll try if I can find the next two somewhere.
The longest series that I watched was Fullmetal Alchemist (51 episodes). I'm not fond of long series either, that one was an exception of the rule. If a series even only have 24-26 episodes, it has to be better than just 'okay' for me to continue watching.
