I dont know a terribly high amount of dub voice actors by name since i usually dont watch more than 5 minutes of a show with the dub track turned on. Out of the dubs i have preferred over subs, my favorite VA would be Charles 'Spike' Spencer, who played Shinji in Evangelion.
By some strange coincidence, all of the anime for which i preferred the dub over the sub feature a character that he voices, even if they are only a minor character. That dosent mean i like the dubs of everyhing he's in though (didn't really like the Code Geass R2 dub).
As i said above, subs are generally my preference for a variety of reasons, most notably that in needing to choreograph the words to match the lip flaps, important details can be missed out. The fact that a lot of American VA's sound like cardboard dosent help. I can never understand it because in games they sound great (and yes, i have played games with dual audio).
