Well sure there's new anime... There's new anime every season of the year. But who needs the new when you got tons of old to watch.

Pertaining to my last post, I just finished Hakujaden from 1958. I didn't really know what to expect going into it but it was actually pretty good 8/10.

^today is the first day ive ever had a few profile comments other than my first day on mal

just curious here might be a stupid question but with regards to mal...do you guys ever feel a little intimidated when scoring a show perhaps intimidated is the wrong word but have u ever wanted to rate a show quite highly but been put off what the majority thinks?
ive just been editing some ratings pushing as i think early on i was probably a little intimidated about how i rate a show and sometimes went lower than i really thought.

Well... Idk, I just rate based on how much enjoyment I got out of the show. I try to stick to MALs scale as strictly as possible.

10- Masterpiece
9- Great
8- Very Good
etc...

Even with a mean score of 6.88 I still feel I rate somewhat generously. I've gone back and re-rated a few times. Sometimes I feel inclined to rate shows higher that are believed to be very good by most people even if I thought they were just average. On the contrary to you, I don't mind rating low scoring shows high. It makes your own individual taste be known. Like for example... I gave Blue Gender a 10 even though it has a 7.16 score because I really loved the show.

I always see the same old stuff on peoples favorites list... Code Geass, Death Note, FMA, etc, etc... It's pretty bland and shows no individuality so I like seeing some differentiation.
