Tbh the only anime I've ever really liked was Zero No Tsukaima. If anyone has heard of it. I found it interesting and hilarious.

Ah. Zero's Familiar. Been trying to work my way through the LN's with varied degrees of success. It's a decent story, but some of the short story intuerlude books I find really drag on.

Okay, the first episode of Azur Lane was honestly pretty bad. Wasn't sure what all I was expecting going in, but definitely was expecting something with some actual logic and somewhat decent direction that wasn't just 90% cameo and fanservice stuff for the first episode.
I'm not saying it needs to be some avant-garde masterpiece thing, but come one, at least make the first episode somewhat decent.
Hopefully they can turn it around going forward, but I'm not holding my breath here.

Is there really anything to expect from something with a mobile game as its source material?
I eventually managed to finish the first volume of Arifureta. That "weakest" hero didn't remain weak for long, with an astronomical rise in power in only the first book ...

I mean it depends on the game and the devs really. I know miHoYo could pull it off no problem, After all they've already put out a solid slice of life adaptation of one of the side manga.
No, this was more like the devs decided to be completely hands off in the production. Just gave the studio character sheets and a very basic plot and said "have at it".
Azur Lane may be a collection game, but it does have a story to go off of, as convoluted as it is. I do wish they would have the main story be campaign mode and not this mixed up event mess which nobody can really keep straight, but thats a whole other issue.
If they put proper care into it, it can be good. It just doesn't seem like they did.

KanColle anime was okay, I thought, and that's a mobile game adaptation.I have only played the PlayStation Vita version/game though.
Actually KanColle is a browser game, not a mobile.
And I never personally enjoyed it much, due to how RNG the whole system was. Basically it was you click the mouse, and roll a die hoping for a favorable number. That's all there was to it.
You could somewhat improve your odds by how you kitted out your shipgirls, but in the end, everything still came down to RNG.
Just kindof made it feel dull you know?
