I never understood the No game no life popularity like the show is fine didnt think it was anything special though at the time. Though it is kinda similar to konosuba now then i think about it.

I enjoyed it enough to go back and watch it again, which I dont do for many shows. I spose it's popular becasue this 'thinking anime lite', convoluted enough to come across as a 'smart' show, without the viewer actually having to do any thinking for themselves. That and the horribly self-destructive condependant, implicitly incestuous relationship between Sora and Shiro, becasue you know how the fandom is.

I've never understood the popularity either. Mondaiji-tachi is much better than NGNL. I mean, NGNL is entertaining, but it has zero re-watchability factor to it, at least for me.

Also, similar to Konosuba? Konosuba is slapstick humour with an attempt at a plot. NGNL at least has a real plot, albeit a weak one, and is watchable. Leader of The Enemy ||

No Game No Life is good, so as Mondaiji-Tachi.
Read both of their Novels, and loved it!

I also don't see the need to compare them both, since the two of them have completely different plot and character dev.

Konosuba was actually boring for me, there was no real goal at all. They should have just added the "slice of life" tag. Lols.

just thought the male mc's were kind of similar in the shows both NEETS both vaguely intelligent and they've both got the pathetic female characters in steph/aqua as well and both heavily focused on the comedic aspect

When you think about it harder it indeed matches. Although Anime nowadays have almost the same "concept" or "plot", NEET/airhead tandem mostly are the MC's.
