On the topic of VN's I've picked up recently, there's Hanahira, which I picked up on DLSite, and this one
Koi Suru Doll to Omoi no Kiseki ~Poupee de Souhaits~
which I imported from Japan so I could get it DRM-free.
Haven't really sat down and made much progress with either of them though, keep getting distracted.
Got a few others on DLSite I'm debating on getting, a Touhou one called "Aya Shameimaru's Case File", and the first of the Dagger series, which I've downloaded the demo for. Haven't made any progress on that either now that I think about it.
At any rate, I want to at least make my way through Hanahira before I pick up another one though.

Wouldn't say it's weird. A lot of VN's have H content, but just because it does, doesn't mean it has to be the thing that sells it to you. It's the characters and their interactions that really sell a VN to you generally speaking.
Yea at first my whole thought process was playing them w/o the H scenes was like watching an action movie but removing the action parts.
So i thought if you didnt have those scenes it would "ruin" the whole story and point of them.
Are there any translated (official or fan) Yuri visual novels that were made in Japan, that have sexual content, and the characters aren't teenagers or set in a school setting?
I've been looking for like what feels like two decades.

Probably not as thats usually what makes the most money from what ive seen at least.
I mean it must say something if you've been looking for that long.

Glad to see i was wrong though.
I mean even though you can enjoy them without them sometimes, I'd still argue it's best to play it with them, as that was the original intended design choice. Not to mention sometimes H-scenes have actual story relevant content that things won't make sense without.
Sunrider, which I mention in the OP posts, is a prime example of this. It has a single H-scene which gives backstory into the relationship of two of the characters, that you don't get otherwise.

True, but at least playing w/o doesnt take anything away from the experience.
If anything, it actually doesnt feel like anything is missing IMHO.
So since, in the case for the switch version, they only replace the scenes and not remove them like i hear they do for the ps4 version, nothings really missing from the story TBH.
Plus i also fail to see with that logic how the scenes are plot relevant?
If the switch version can replace them and it still flows just fine, how are they needed?

As I said,
can be
. Doesn't mean they have to be, but they can. In some games they are a spicy extra, but in others they are very much plot relevant. All depends on the game.

Also, remember how I said I wasn't going to buy another one until I made it through Hanahira. Well I kindof broke down and bought one. An old one, Deep Voice, released by Apricot back in 2001. Currently waiting for it to ship out. I'd watched the OVA a long time back and it really caught my interest.
