As for Dark Fall 3, I'd say no. The defining trait of a visual novel is the "novel" aspect, i.e. written narration/exposition/dialogue. The gameplay isn't what disqualifies it, it's the lack of text. Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

. Anoher good one would be Shizuku no Oto I'd say, though though it's more of a psychological mystery/horror than thriller. Sekai Project localized it, so you can buy it on Steam. English name is Sound of Drop ~fall into poison~. Leader of The Enemy ||

tbh yes Well, if you look just a few threads up, you'll find thread labeled Anime Discussion full of what you seem to consider "Weebs".

But, seeing as VNs aren't a japan thing, us VN lovers aren't to be grouped with them.

I could detail to the amount of work that goes into creating a single sprite even in the simplified, stylized animation style that is reffered to as "Anime", though thats propably not that interesting.

And of course, the more realistic you make it, the more exponentially you increase the work. This doesn't even factor in CG's, possible animations, whatever.

It's less the "Anime" format itself, and more that the simplified, stylized, art style, allows for much more frredom in creation.
