Hopefully with most borders closed this virus will be contained and wiped out before it can do wide spread damage.
@Tuffty -That's fantastic, at 75% that means most British people are being vaccinated
That's great for your country.
What I don't understand if 75% are vaccinated how come there is a small rise in new cases compared to the same month last year??
I know this is due to the Delta variant which spread faster and is more potent. Does this mean there are people who are vaccinated and still have the virus?
Another good news less people going into hospital compared to last year in England, and deaths remain low <- this sounds like the vaccines are doing their job.
^ I think with England pretty much fully re-opening, I think an uptick in cases was expected but obviously the important thing being that it doesn't translate into ICU admissions and death.
Data out of the US & Canada so far (perhaps even the UK too) all points to the vast majority of all serious cases of Covid now being those who aren't vaccinated so you're right, the vaccines are doing exactly what they intended to do which is great.
Apparently our whole country has gone into 48 hour lockdown from midnight tonight
We have one person in Auckland in the community with a positive result for Covid.
Edit: I put of going shopping till tomorrow because of nasty weather, I wish I went now :/
If fat means flavour then I'm ******* delicious!
