Support. I also think that butchering certain creatures should yield a bi-product. As in, let's say you kill a dragon. You butcher it to get dragon blood which could be used as a potion ingredient. Perhaps drinking this dragon blood potion would give the imbiber magic resistance, strength, constitution, and or weapon effects. Red The White : Prime Minister of

cool idea white eyes, maybe spiders could drop a venom sac that could give you small poison chance upon damage effect for limited time, other strange monsters with thier own version of extra bi product :3 dragons would have the flame-napalm sac in thier throat could be used for firey graphics and slight damage increase to attacks! :3

good example of this is wows Winterfall FIrewater.

gives melee slight boost and increases visual size :D

white eyes32 & Devildragn76, This thread has about a 70% approval rate with almost all those that don't support stating that this should just be part of cooking and many others stating it would add nothing to the game.

Its really great to hear from folks like you that have the imagination to see that there's a potential for a great deal of new content here. This is exactly what I had in mind. In my opinion it should take great butchery skills to successfully remove a venom sac from a spider and even more to remove flame-napalm sac from a dragon without rupturing the sac and causing great injury to yourself.

These are skills that shouldn't be acquired just by cooking sharks.

We have already seen the start of this in dungeoneering you trap the ~mastix and then you skin it.
you could choose to gain meats, skins/hides, potentially at higher levels a way to collect items such as the KBD head to mount in your home.

however i feel this could be limited because there is only a limited number of creatures you can skin/butcher in runescape - there are dragon hides, cow hides, furs, dagganoth, squah, snake and yak hides etc etc. there are alot of potential fleshy animals/creatures however these are usually low levelled (bears monkeys chicken cow sheep)- undead/metal dragons/elementals/humans i would see as a no go and hunter skill already incorporates this already.

good idea however i dont see enough substance at the moment to make it an entire skill

I like this idea, so put me down for support.

I've read through about 20 pages on this thread and had a thought for those that seem to think this is only good for cooking...

Every butcher I have ever known (alright only about 6, but still) has also been a taxidermist. Could you branch this off into that area as well? Instead of having a few random tanners around, you would buy your supplies from them and tan your own leathers. (I do NOT mean making anything out of the leather, just the leather prep.) You would buy tanner's salt, scrapers, stretching frames, and various other things from them. Also, if we get an upgrade to construction skll, you could add the preparation of trophy kills for the POH.
