If you would add a new skill for every function we can think of, then we would end up with thousands of skills, which can easily be fit in thirty skills. Butchery is a good idea, but you would end up with food that heals immense ammounts of health, making bossing and quests even easier. This has already been done by the EoC. EoC had a huge impact on the game, which I liked, but it should not be made easier by better-healing foods. Rocktail stews are already very good, can be bought and sold. It costs a bit, but it's worth it if you really need the stews.

- support, sorry man

I find this to be a far to gruesome and meticulous activity. As the previous poster stated, zillions of skills could be made for zillions of activities. And this one in particular does not have a whole lot of diverse functions and uses which are not already overshadowed by existing ones, like cooking. The addition of this would just be excessive and crowd up drop tables.

Laundry Folding skill confirmed.

People are supporting this as a skill?
Im sorry I don't see the point, it would be a repetitive none beneficial skill.
The fine prep that goes into meat is 'covered' in cooking, this would be the equivalent of a wood treating skill separate to construction or an assistant skill for magic.
Anything that could be done with the skill could be done in half the time by tweaking cooking not that I even believe this should be implementated into cooking

Overall this looks like another Fletching skill (not good) with the same lack of purpose.

"Are people supporting this as skill?"
Take a look at the top of this page for your answer. The overall support vs non-support has been about 50/50 with waves in either direction.
I've debated the merits of this skill numerous times and a scroll backwards will provide you with my and many others points of view supporting this skill addition.

"but you would end up with food that heals immense amounts of health, making bossing and quests even easier." Really??
For the past couple years now Runescape has been all about making things easier.
Look up some old questing guides and then revisit the quests. The majority of the creatures in these quests have had their stats LOWERED. Jagex is already making questing easier. My answer to you statement is .. Then make the bosses harder.

I started playing Runescape because it had a mystical mid-evil theme where it felt like you were living in an Excalibur movie. The "Skills" were all loosely based around that idea and fit the imaginary time-frame. I want more skills based on this that are incorporated into everyday play of the game; you kill something, it drops a carcass that you butcher, and then turn into food. Not a huge new minigame or another monotonous gathering skill that has nothing to do, by itself, with playing the game.
