We have 2 skills involved with making armor and weapons (mining and smithing)
We have 2 skills involved with making potions
(farming and herblore)
We have 2 skills involve with making bows and arrows
(woodcutting and fletching)
and so on..
Butchering and cooking wouldn't overlap but compliment one another.

and once again...BUTCHERS DON'T COOK
Cooking is already a very involved and diverse skill. Adding more to it just didn't seem like a good idea to me. Yet I would like to have different foods that have different benefits when eaten. And I'm kinda tired of having to go fishing before I go into combat.
Butchery is the step of taking a carcass and turning it into something that can be cooked (but not eaten in its just butchered state) Butchery doesn't make food, it makes stuff that cooks turn into food.
In Real life if you walk into a butchers shop expecting to sit down for a meal you are going to be very disappointed.
The last skill took Jagex 2.5 years to release. Can we expect another in 2013?
I would like more skills , not less. And I would like the skill to directly relate to the game as we all play it. Dungeoneering kinda fell short of this for me.

Mining doesnt involve making armor and weapons idiot, it involves mining ores, Smithing is the only skill involving making armor.
Woodcutting involves cutting trees. It doesnt become involved with bows and arrows unless that is that the logs are used for.
Potions are not made with farming, the ingredients are, but not making potions.
Get your facts straight kid.

The concepts here just aren't that difficult to understand. I always enjoy an intelligent discussion but its becoming obvious that that's a wasted effort here with you.
