^ I really don't think we should take anything away from the player that has suited up for combat and is ranging or maging from a distance. That's exactly why folks spend the time needed to raise these skill levels. They can be pickpocketed or disarmed and once that has happened they need to retreat to resupply.
The high level one item combat players with "keep one item" always on can't be disarmed and if killed simply run back to the enemy base as fast as possible.
They have no fear of being killed as they have nothing to lose.
After another full weekend of SC games its clearer than ever that the outcome of the games are completely determined by actions of a couple level 135+ players regardless of the skilling levels of any players.

Yeah this is the main reason I dislike combat minigames in rs, High level Griefing.
combat is just waaaaay to unbalanced and people just love to grief. I ran some experiments in SC, I got a C5 dagger and of course attempted to defend my base. I berrily hit the guy. He had 99 defence, I had 94 attack. Shouldn't I at least hit him? guess not. All the while he just smacks a lower level or me with soul split up to heal any damage we actually inflicted on him.
I don't know a whole lot about the specifics of accuracy & defence but its almost as if its based more on exp then actual level. I E a level at level 10 is nothing, a level at level 90 is a huge boost. At least according to my tests anyway.
Should that be true (which I doubt), that would be a huge balance issue.
This idea would work wonderfully, however I suggest it be a RANDOM fog patch instead of a consistant one this would further decrease greifing.
I also love the base damage idea. You got my full support!

Support, I do like to PK people after i get my full c5 and 35k points, but i tend to avoid skillers if i can, or camping bases, that makes the game dull. If anyone should kill me they get some decent loot and points from it.
I think there should be something to prevent people from one iteming outside of X squares of their base. I can understand it to kill campers, but PKing with just a dagger is lame.

I've played tons of non-combat games. Just way too boring and as I've stated many times, I love the combat.
Yes, thieving is a big part of the game and without it it might be impossible to disarm those high level mage players.
It is fun and it could be even better.

I totally agree, but when skillers complain, they shouldn't. They are basically being given amazing benefits with sacred clay. They have some risk :) But anyways, tunnels to a fog, or a random fog on one side every timke you go through. I love that idea.
