My original thought was to have a 2 way tunnel from the base where folks could both enter and exit their base. It just seemed logical to have this in a fixed position ( but different in every game) so folks could choose to either attempt to make it to their base or the fog entrance, and folks would also try to locate their enemy's fog entrance/exit and prevent folks from coming and going.
After a lot of discussion both here and in the game I think this would make it too easy to get clay to the base and that the tunnel should just be an exit from the base to the playing field. Having it just be an exit it certainly could be to a random fog.
High level rangers and mages will always be a problem for lower level players and to change that would wreck the game. But when you kill them they have to go back to their base and restock. The 1 item ( usually a c5 dagger ) high combat player with "keep one item" prayer set can come right up to the base, die, and come right back, repeatedly.
I would like to make this practice a little more challenging.
