POV: You are back after a long break from the game catching up on quests. You enjoy the lore and today, in 2022, you are doing quests referencing ones you completed in 2006 when you were 13 years old.

POV: Jagex finally releases a new quest / finale of a series that started 20+ years ago

I know we can read transcripts, but it would be more enjoyable to be able to replay quests completed decades ago to really get the feel of everything again.

The suggestion - Refresher Quests. There are a couple quests that do this in-game already (Broken Home, Sliske's Endgame, etc) so we know it is possible. I don't know how quests are scripted to the account so I can't address the difficulty or ease to do this. The idea is after you complete a quest you will be able to play it again.

Common sense restriction: You can't claim the reward again
As for quest decisions - I read that in Endgame you can change the decisions you made so that they actually effect the world pertaining to them. I don't necessarily want that but I wouldn't protest it either. If a restriction to doing a refresher is that none of the decisions matter that would be fine.

Before it's commented - not everyone has the time to make a new account or play on FSWs. Yes questing takes time too but a few hours for a quest is a bit different than grinding half your skills to the 80s on a new character.

I think they said something that replayability isn't a task now due to how little Endgame got replayed (to be fair it was a grandmaster quest with plenty of requirements).
I wish this was an option and certainly redo some of the quests I did a while ago, but recoding all quests so they can be replayed seems like something they don't want to put time in.

I don't agree with the Endgame logic as it's a new(ish) quest and a finale, plus most of us lore nerds were content with our decisions lol. In a decade if they decide to bring Sliske back then I'd imagine they'd see a spike in endgame replays. Think about when Pieces of Hate came out and those who did the early pirate quests on release, or those who did Ichtlarin's Little Helper when it came out.

The quests back in the day were never coded to be replayable. So the only way to make them "replayable" would be to redo the quest from scratch.

It takes devs 3-4 months to create a low intensity quest. Some quests would also require going so far as graphical udpates (pretty much anything made before 2010 at this point). With about 200 quests in game, with that criteria, devs would be spending years of dev work just to make existing quests replayable.

I'd rather they make new content.

Is there not a way to copy them but altar the code so that the rewards aren't given? Perhaps there could be an instanced world where no quests are counted as completed or count outside of it?

Thank-you. Lore nerds who have been around a long time and did crucial quests when we were kids, or people who took a while to get into lore, could use this

I think this option would be fun - especially for those who completed a quest years back or skipped through the dialogue.

I imagine a lot of development work goes into a quest, but players typically only interact with them once (i.e. They will do the quest and move on). This idea could make 'one-off' content replayable.

Thank you.

Yeah, I'd rather experience the quests I did all those years ago vs just reading up on the story, watching a playthrough, making a new acc, etc. Just isn't the same.
