@ Kings Abbot
I sincerely hope you never have a regret in a choice you make in life. I hope the first career choice you make is the perfect one and you never have to change it. Changing your mind many years later because it just wasn't exactly what you thought it was would definitely be foolish and outrageous.
But to be more realistic here, making a choice years ago for security purposes with full knowledge that it truly isn't permanent (using Jagex support) should not punish those who were not lucky enough to put in their tickets before removing this option. I cannot for the life of me predict how I will feel about my online character in the next month, let alone many years down the road.
I understand the argument that we CHOSE to make it permanent and "permanent means permanent", but it truly didn't mean that until UGIM came out. Bringing it back for ironmen who did not get a chance to reverse this decision beforehand would not affect you or anyone else in this game in the slightest. It's such a weird hill to die on when people act as if there's some moral obligation to stick to the choice I made many years ago on an account I was totally in over my head playing. I could not predict the AMOUNT of content that came out after choosing that option, the many thousands of hours it would/could take to get even basic setups that normal accounts could buy after a few hours of grinding rune drags.
Again, I really hope you have always stuck to each and every decision you've ever made and never regretted a single thing you've done in life. I know it's definitely easier standing so high on that moral high ground looking down on the people trying to improve their gameplay at no cost to anyone else.
