Support. I once made an idea about using wildy loot bags to hold gp that can be lost on death (mandatory to enter the wild) but you do not lose anything worn or in inventory. I remember you supporting that.
My wildy thread is one of those that expired, so best of luck with your idea

I like how thought out this idea is and I think it's well worth the bump I'm about to give it.
Quick take tho on this line: "Undecided: you may not be able to log out at all in The New Wild unless you are in The Fog)." This isn't really possible because if someone disconnects or just outright closes the window the only other option would be for them to die and respawn elsewhere, or just outright respawn elsewhere which again makes this rule senseless.
Thanks very much, I is spaeror!
True. I managed to forget about disconnections and simply closing the window to force log out. I'll have to remove that part. I'd rather that people didn't automatically lose their stuff due to a dc.

You may want to clarify what you mean by instance in the original post by comparing it to the brassica vs marimbo instance or something
I thought this was clear enough:

"An instanced world set in the wilderness"
Rather than instanced worlds*
I haven't played brassica vs marimbo. I'd compare it to death match, but that would probably give a negative impression, as that minigame fell short and as a result is dead.
I don't have much room left in my posts to be adding more bits either

Thanks. I think I do remember that. Shame that it expired, as it was an interesting idea. Thanks very much, I intend to keep bumping this. Hopefully something positive will come of it.

Awesome that we had the same idea!
Some of these ideas have been laying dormant in my mind for years
I finally decided to put the whole puzzle together and upload it to the forums, a few days ago.
WOW! What a lot of ideas you have had stored up - I will be back to read it
Not sure about bosses in the wilderness and instant worlds <- I have to read it before I can truly comment, I have only just skimmed through.

We can't derail our threads - my alt has 44k and I was away for a couple of years
I love the forums but part of the forums don't love me
Anyway let's stay on topic.
My concern with having bosses in the wild <- I haven't done much with bosses, just low key ones because of a challenge, so I don't know much about them. What I do know they can take time to kill, you need your best of everything, some bosses need multiple players to kill them <- this is going to be a pkers playground.
Instant world - not sure about this either - I feel having instant worlds and waiting for them to be filled before another world is opened is also playing into the hands of pkers.
I want the wilderness to be buzzing again, scary, to have that worry in the back of your mind of being pked and being on the lookout, that adrenaline feeling is awesome - but I don't want to be a sitting duck out there. I believe your idea of instant worlds and bosses will make the wilderness a target for all skillers and bossing.
Bosses sure do take time to kill (weak ones not too long) and the better equipped you are, the more efficiently you'll get kills. More risk = more potential reward. Some wild bosses definitely will require multiple players and therefore some alliances must be formed to take them on. The whole intention is to make this instanced wild a PKer's playground
- plus a PVMer's playground and even a skiller's playground.
There will always be an instanced wild world active. I just added the feature for more worlds to become active, when the existing world gets too crowded. You can choose to continue playing on the crowded world, or switch to the newly created world with few players.
The wild world being instanced will increase the likelihood of PVP encounters... yes, as it funnels all players from every world who joins to just one (or a few) instances. That is the intention. The New Wild has been made to be high risk, high reward content. If you prefer the wild where PKers are rarely seen, the current wilderness will still be available for such players.
Those are some of my intentions (among many others) - to make the wild buzzing, scary, worrying/on the lookout, adrenaline packed etc, as you said.
Technically everyone will be a sitting duck. That's pretty much how the wild is. Run, kill or be killed. Everyone will be a target in TNW. Every man for himself. May the best man win, etc.
Since skilling resources stack, skillers can bring food/armour and anti-PK. Literally everyone can be a skiller, bosser or PVPer. Everyone is a victim and everyone has the potential to come out on top. If you want to do well at anything though, you'll need to know how to defend yourself from a PKer at least.

No, sorry this being an instant world is just a playground for pkers - you will be playing in there hand - if this was all worlds the pkers will need to do a bit of work tracking down the boss kills.
Sorry, no support for instant worlds <- this is just a pkers playground.
Why would players choose to boss in the wilderness even if more XP and better loot is possible why would they risk everything?? RNG ain't best at the best of times.
It's meant to be a playground for PKers. This is PVP content.
Players will risk in order to get
justifiable reward
, from PVM and PVP alike.
I have suggested guaranteed rare drops from bosses (as they spawn rarely) previously in this thread. Therefore, RNG may not even be a thing.
The current wilderness is on every world and world hopping is pretty necessary to find people.
The New Wild is instanced, to vastly increase player encounters and to offer a high risk, high reward alternative to the regular wilderness. I don't see a problem with taking world hopping out of the PKing equation in this instance. World hopping is tedious; I'd much rather do the "tracking" without having to open the world selection list.
This will be a fast paced environment. In the current wild, you'll search for ages to find an opponent, and the opponent you find will more than likely be an unarmed skiller, unable to put up a fight. I don't like the state of the current wilderness.
In TNW, you will see people frequently. You'll kill frequently, you'll die frequently (unless you're amazing).
It speeds up PVP encounters, and makes those encounters
far more rewarding.
support, ive always enjoyed the idea of roaming bosses as well as wilderness being changed to revive it. pking is just not fun anymore, you can go out with maxed gear and stats yes but risking so much for so little isnt right.
pssst....we know who you are. Hail Sithis!
