trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.

My cup of tea got cold while reading the thread and removing a few posts. :P
I never thought about you having to actually read through every post.

Maybe I'll be more careful about what I write.

@SoulSplits, Raphtalia6 & Awake NY,

I don't want to continue the off topic on the Rares Item Status thread, so I hope this post finds you...

@SoulSplits - I agree with this post and wouldn't be upset if V63 was the last. It's kind of annoying having to scroll through 20 or sometimes 30+ pages just to compare prices and find trades of items I personally have, with people constantly arguing about players manipulating, etc. I don't think everything should be moved to a Discord Bot though, as that is also player run and can be manipulated in ways also. Because of how crazy prices have become, I've stopped trading the items I have, and will just hold onto them, while monitoring these forums.

We can only hope that Jagex is working behind the scenes on a solution to this problem, by adding an RS3 version of platinum tokens, or the ability to trade rares on the GE with amounts higher than max cash/ability to use shards as a currency on the GE. Or even adding a public list on the website/in-game GE showing recent trades of rares and which players were involved.

On top of this, the Duel Arena needs to be shut down. I doubt any legitimate players have used it in years to have "fun" with friends. The only legitimate use the Duel Arena has now is the clue scroll dig spot.

@Raphtalia6,
I could be wrong with this, but it may be worth creating a thread in the Website and Forums section, about the issues and threads that should be stopped. While I know Jagex already knows about this issue, it may be worth bringing it up again and getting others to contribute to the thread.

@Awake NY,
Regarding your post here , it's not good to accuse others of using alts, when you're on one yourself. ;) I personally believe Forum Chat Lounges should be started by a JMod or FMod, but that's just me.

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can educate me as I am not very knowledgeable about the rares market. But hasn't christmas scythe's value historically always been higher than red halloween mask and follows red santa hat? If so, why on earth are halloween masks exponentially rising even in december, while scythe is actually decreasing in value? Especially in the month of December, when christmas related items would have more demand than halloween items?

Another question if I may. What factors contribute to the fall and rise of new non-discontinued rares like dyes, tony's mattock, etc. Wouldn't they be risky as a rare to keep as they're still available rewards from clues that anyone can do as long as they meet the minimum barrier of entry?

nobleoblige,

I'm in the camp that believes Christmas items have never risen because of Christmas. They might have risen during Christmas, but these rises were not caused by Christmas.

Scythe might be underpriced. I have no idea the normal ratio for that item. If it is underpriced, then it will probably rise later.

Non-rares are risky. Buy a Tony's if you're using it, not to hold. I don't have a Tony's. I just research.

Apologies for the late reply trip180!

But ah I see. So I take it that demand for a seasonal discontinued rares like halloween masks or christmas scythe are not impacted at all by a holiday or a season?

And if holding onto a non-rare is so risky, how have these items achieved the value they've been currently maintaining? For example, I assumed that with the increased amount of players doing clues for fortune components, this increase in activity would cause these non-rares to drop in value? Because more of them will be brought into the market? Or is their low drop rate and demand in the market so high enough to justify these values?
