Thats the issue these days with rares. They and this is my own opnion have just out priced themselves and the general player who would like 1 now just can't afford any. I'm just happy I have my collection now as I would not buy any at todays prices. I just couldn't afford them. (I could but don't want too)
Jagex could sell new rares at a temporary shop. This would take gp out of the game.
Then, when the event ends, the shop disappears.
The shop could even return a few times, then vanish for good. This way, absolutely any player with the funds could buy new rares. Equal access for all. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity.

Hey everyone, while I appreciate your support for this thread getting reglued, let me clarify a little bit.
This thread was stickied for 2 weeks as a trial run, after which, the thread and its activity were to be reviewed by the JMods and a decision made about whether or not to keep the sticky.
That 2 weeks came and went, and the thread was forwarded to the relevant JMods by myself for analysis and a decision. Ultimately the decision was that this was a positive thread for the forums, but they did not believe that it warranted being a sticky.
I realize this is a disappointment to some of you, and I absolutely sympathize with that. However, this was always intended to be a trial run, and there was always a possibility it wouldn't be for good.
That said, this is an excellent thread full of good discussion, and it seems counterproductive to have almost 1/3 of the posts on this thread today simply be "support sticky" posts with nothing to add to the conversation.
I realize some of you are upset by the decision, and I understand that and empathize, but simply posting in support of a re-stickying is not the way to go. I understand the support and of course I understand the want to express it, however it is a bit of a derailment at the moment, as it breaks up the ongoing conversations.
This thread has great discussion value, and the focus of this thread should be on that. If this thread continues to flourish and invite the community-focused, positive discussions that it has already, than I think Jagex will be much more likely to revisit the decision. While I don't post, I've been a constant lurker on this thread since the outset, and I think it's invited some excellent and much needed comradery and positivity in ID, and I'd love to see that continue.
In short, I think it's a much more beneficial and positive way of showing support if we can continue this thread along with the wonderful and insightful discussions that the community has been having
