Not relevant to the thread but as Jony said he's ok with a bit of off topic; I still have screenshots of me antiflipping hats and wines in the ge back in 2013 when i was bored and drunk and reporting the prices in Quark. The wine was instantly cut MASSIVELY by the time I antiflipped a 2nd.
Whilst it was hilarious to see, I don't believe it was the system that was the cause for the margin not existing, rather the players happy to settle for less. I was very well known within 90weaps for my drygore flips and the margins I'd get on them, as was "Genocyber", whilst others were flipping them for 500k-1m. All in all, the playerbase dictates the margins, not the system.
Have some nostalgia, some og's may remember this if they're here. The community is what made flipping so enjoyable back then. Now it's all solo or get involved with manip fc's.

you're mistaken. I helped replace the previous system with R Quark.
Margins went from high --> nonexistant.
The system changed. If you didn't play when this happened, then you might not know. Today, prices are uncertain. As a result, margins are enormous.
I was so active, the former phat thread owner (Charm Quark) originally gave ownership to me. I gave it to Lyra, though she doesn't remember. I only "owned" it for a day, didn't want it.
This is why R Quark was so hated. We created honest prices and obliterated margins. The system balanced people in a way that worked. It was one of the most amazing things to happen to this game. I realise it had its problems, and I also realise it might well be impossible to restore that golden age; but it was amazing.
It's something probably no other game has achieved. Scope wrote the original b/s system. Lyra ran the FC, albeit very hands-off. We had big merchants giving prices and amazing listers.
