Instead of relying on RNG they should have made it effort based. such as meting a certain goal. That way everyone who made an effort will get one and those who didn't try at all will be out of luck.
Imagine grinding the entire event, opening hundreds or thousands of gifts to get no GSH or gold present only for your friend to get it first try without playing much at all.
I'd be happy for my friend sure, but I'd be very annoyed by the system.
Ppl go thousands of kills dry or millions of xp dry of pets so how is this any different?
Nothing needs to change except ppl learning to deal with rng.

Pets are not tradable and so have no value. Lets use HSR as an example. That's extremely rare, possibly the rarest non discontinued item in the game. The point is that although rare it's ALWAYS available as a drop. That's a huge difference.
Green Party Hats are ALWAYS available as a drop from blue, purple and gold presents too. What's the "huge" difference?
Green party Hats havent been available as drops since 2001.
