Just a guess.

Right now, there are 60,000 golden partyhats on active accounts. And 18,000 green santa's.

Hey, I'm here to ask for some advice on a situation that I'm in. I bought some Golden partyhats after they first came out. I bought four of them for a total of 1,147,794,000 (two for 319,972,000 each, one for 309,850,000 and one for 198,000,000). I've been waiting a long time for these to go up in price so that I can make a profit. They are now only worth a total of 460M approximately so I lost 700M.

I still have 1053M cash and four Golden partyhats which is about 1500M all together. I'm just wondering what I should do to make a profit. I could sell the partyhats and buy two Easter eggs or a Pumpkin or a Christmas scythe maybe. I could keep the partyhats and buy one Easter egg.

What should I do to make a profit? Any advice or suggestions are highly appreciated.

if you are not going to use this money to make more money (flip in GE, PVM, etc...), then keep them for now as they are already low in price.

the GPH will remain low for a while unless the ppl with GP decide to invest in golden partyhats.

Now that the trade volume is out, I'd say theres around 10k-20k ingame. The volume is just way too low for there to be anywhere near 80k or more.

I understand your thought process, but there are many more than your estimate.

I know of someone who obtained over 100 on their own throughout the event. If 50 people did the same thing during the event, that's 5k hats between those 50 people.

By your estimate, 50 people would hold between 25% - 50% of the entire volume.

It's a very common item, but it's just not traded often because it's not overly desirable.

Unfortunately you can't simply use the daily trade volume to estimate actual volume.

I highly doubt 50 people made 100+ alts to farm GPH considering how fast they went down in value. I think wealthy players cannot acknowledge that a true discontinued item came into the game recently.

While they may not be desirable by wealthy market movers, they are desired by people whom cannot otherwise afford the high end rares. They were trading nearly almost as the daily volume for mask/Santas before they got taken off.
