After doing some digging online I found a tweet from @JagexCamel stating that Jagex is looking into upping the rate of gaining wrapping paper from skilling / combat / etc. There was no word from him or any other Jmod (that I found) about actual rate of rolling a GSH would be increased.

Therefore - if they were to increase rate at which you gain wrapping paper this means more presents which = more chances so.... yeah.

increasing paper earned is the only buff that makes sense. increasing roll chance or decreasing cost of gifts would heavily favor people that have been saving their wrapping paper. the others would be understandably outraged lol.

im 100% in support of a buff hope they do it soon before i finish afk training arch

They might have already done this. I feel like I'm getting wrapping paper way more often now.

Pretty much been no-life playing during the event, most likely hit about 100k papers handed in now (Also used all my saved keys and oddments) on keys. Still only one yellow present with 50m inside. On the plus side - I've got enough full Christmas dinners for every player currently online.

It's certainly rare, or I'm just astoundingly unlucky. Still not worth spending the street price at the moment. Not sure if the price is a genuine reflection or an artificial reflection, but I'm leaning more towards the price being artificially inflated at the moment.

Think I'll just stick with my RSH this year and see what happens to the GSH over 2022.

Have to agree here.

I mean look at pretty much every other rare of the same nature.

Almost all of them are worth over 1b or so thus it only makes sense that this one would be as well.

But Green Santa hat is not a discontinued "rare"

Comparing it to other items that are just a rare drop the GSH is far above it's natural value, which would be between 300-1b at most

you could compare it to the third-age wreath I guess, it's a somewhat rare and appealing item to players, and it's around 500-900m

yes it is not technically a discontinued "rare" as of yet or might never be. Santa hats are iconic and have always been. The green santa hat mimics that of the black santa hat and look at the price of that, around 23b. There are roughly 10k black santas in game, much less green currently. People love their santas!

Not even remotely close.
The action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired.
