Who care if they are doing outdated minigames or just AFKing when their objective is just to get Thalers and buy the old minigame rewards OP want? This is far practical than no Minigame Spotlight and players have to come to the forums to beg for team or buy account services for dead Jagex minigames like BA.

The new minigames are Wilderness Flash Events and D&Ds where players like and won't AFK for no rewards.

I don't find it useful to measure the value of content by people's willingness to keep playing if it were removed. I will say that the death of minigames and the state of holiday events have negatively impacted my level of investment and activity in the game. They were nice breaks from other content and welcome methods of socializing with other players. Without them, the game feels more isolated. There's less to really engage with other players unless you like group bossing, which I don't.

There's a similar feeling of isolation in how the forums are neglected in favour of third party social media sites like Reddit. Players should be able to have their voices heard through methods involving their actual game account rather than having to make a separate account for a site they don't want to interact with. Jagex really needs to update and improve the social and community aspects of the game on their actual site and within their actual game. That's not just minigames but also FCs, clans, grouping, chat tabs and the forums.

How do players socialize in old minigames like BA and Soul Wars? If you want social minigames, the D&Ds like Penguins Hide & Seek and Evil Tree are actually what you want. PvM and PvP minigames where players hardly find any time to talk are not good for social players anyway.

Besides, being AFKable to earn Thalers in Minigame Spotlight is also a much better idea than having to fight in old minigames.

It might be an extreme take, but it is a valid question.

You had players that quit over updates like the removal of wildy PvP back in 2007. You had people that quit over EoC. You had people quit once MTX started coming in back in 2012 as well. You likely had a few people leave over the removal of the Duel Arena.

With the Wizards of the Coast/D&D changing their open Open Game License, you saw a lot of 3rd party content creators start to disasscociate from WoTC/D&D's upcoming edition. you had players that cancelled their D&D Beyond subscriptions. You've got players/DMs that are no longer going to continue playing the game (or at least buying new stuff).

There is a threshold that all players have for some update/change that makes them say "no. I disagree with this direction. I'm not sticking around for what the game will be like after this change."

Now not liking or disagreeing with a change is very different from the threshold that will make you leave.

That Jagex could make the change and you'll still continue to pay for a subscription regardless of what they do is a very different message than you'll stop paying and stop playing all together.

Yes. You disagree with the Point of View I have of minor changes or making the rewards more easily available.
We both agree that minigames don't have to be removed.
We both agree that the current state of minigames is unacceptable.
We'd both like to see minigames get an update.
We disagree on whether or not Jagex should fully rework them.

I know that comparing a couple of minigames getting removed is very different than a massive game mechanic change (ie: EoC).

But given the level of passion some people are throwing around here on minigames ... I'm wanting to know just how far someone would go for their feelings on the topic.
