Consider Grace Period AND Lock-down Week.

September Lock-down Week requires all before June & March Lock-down week requires all before December.

Display the coming requirements "greyed" or similar so that we know what's coming in 3 to 9 months? Every requirement is thus given at least 3 months grace.

Consider 4 Lock-down dates / year on the 1st of the quarterly months.

This would give 3 to 6 months between notification of a new requirement & the new requirement. There would also be time to discuss & amend which tier is appropriate to a new requirement before it became effective. It lets the players take ownership of the requirements rather than the initiating Mod. It would also give the programmers the opportunity to automate this rather than trying to do it manually twice each year.

Doesn't play well with the other children so will never Comp (L).

wow yall went from 0 to 100 on that rework.. I dunno how I feel about this.

Grace: ok
Moving stats to player: ok
Removing MQC and Max cape??? WTF no.

Come on guys. Don't blow this out of proportion. I say just do a cleanup of dated content and add a grace period. Not 6 months though. More like 3.

Seems like this is part of a growing movement to sterilise the game into bland tiers. Runescape is supposed to be quirky. I don't understand why we need this. This wasn't a significant issue in the community before, so why is it a significant issue now?

I am strongly against this idea. This will cause a massive uproar. Comp cape has the best stats for pvm, so what do you need to do to get it? Pvm. If people are complaining about teleports, you have ardy cloak for herb patch and max cape for max guild. Well I know that trying to be helpful to everyone, comp cape is not for everyone. Keep the requirements the same and save everyone the headache of scrambling to complete these new requirements for best in slot cape.

The fact that comp isn't for everyone is exactly why it shouldn't be best in slot for everything.

By being the best for everything, you make it desirable for everyone. As not everyone is a completionist, this creates a pushback against new requirements (particularly those that are tedious or difficult) which we know has influenced Jagex's decisions on the inclusion (or, more accurately, the absence of their inclusion) of requirements for the cape and has undermined the principle of the cape as a result.

If comp is going to be a reward for 'completing the game' and do so unimpeded, it mustn't be BiS.

Honestly, the entire idea that people will have wasted their time getting comp should it lose its stats highlights this exact point. A substantial amount (I would guess majority) of those getting comp aren't doing so because they wanted to complete the game. They did it for its stats and its utility and have little to no desire to deal with additional requirements, doing so only because they are 'forced' to in order to keep the stats and utility of the cape.

The comp cape(s) should be for those who have an interest in actually completing the game and should not have stats that drive players to obtain it for any other reason.

You can feel forced to have a t92 weapon because of it's bis stats. Does that mean it should be nerfed because you can't afford it. What is the difference?

Please do not remove max cape. As a player who isn't apart of the top comp'd community, getting that max cape is a great goal for the newer players. At least POLL this. You have a bad history with ruining your game in the past when you don't poll the players about big decisions. Please don't act like you have it together now.

So, we’re getting new capes? What if I want to wear my old cape?
The Quest Cape, Master Quest Cape and Max Cape (and their old appearances) will no longer exist in game. They’re effectively being replaced by the Lore-1, Lore-2 and Skills-1 capes. If you’ve keepsaked these capes, we’ll refund you. The old Comp and Trim capes will remain in game as legacy versions (see above).

My two cents are that this is a really bad idea to get rid of the quest cape and the master quest cape .... these 2 capes have a solid foundation to them already and the hours of work is just so much from you just to remove them.... These 2 capes are there own category in the game. They are independent of Max and comp capes. Which is great for players that wish to play that way.

Why are you getting rid of the MAX cape .... no just no very very very bad idea ... it is a GOAL Cape that has alot of nostalgia in the game and no only that it is a symbol of getting all those 99s. It would annoy alot of players and i bet you will see then end to many players in the RS3 Community gone. Just looking at the reply's in this post alone...

Comp cape ...... ok so we get to keep them in legacy mode..... why ...... why not just add a beginner comp cape keep the Physical design the same you dont need to change this same with comp (t).... Just add another comp cape with another colour Trim...... Boom there you have your 3 comp capes.

So as you have already said Tier 1 comp cape we done have to worry about because we already have done the requirements for this great leave it that way.

Comp T (just leave it as it is . reqs and all ) like it would be a tier 3....

Add a middle comp cape with a different colour trim.

Keep all the stats the same with all the tiers of comp capes ..... and then as players we can choose what we want to do more of and aim for....... The cape itself is a great cape i feel you with this design idea will be a massive failure if it goes to this plan.

I've just spent the last 8 weeks grinding my little behind off to try and get maxed, because I REALLY like the appearance of the cape.

8 weeks aside, all the time spent on getting maxed, is now essentially going to be wasted since you're planning on shelving the appearance?

Why is it necessary to remove these capes from the game. As a player from way back, removing these capes seems like a truly bad decision. At least keep the appearances around. OSRS starting to look damn appealing :\
