An interesting group of people that need speaking too?

Runaway Hatchling Aviansies. They are found hiding in the scenery, scared they may never master a craft. You advise them on various problems and when they're feeling more secure, they go back. Then they run away again...

Over time, you watch them rank up and become Masters of their respective crafts.

Ancient Avianese Confluence

Before the flocks of Abbinah were united, they would settle their differences in a neutral island. Or at least to look like they were avoiding the pretense of war.

But the island has song since been ignored. Or at least the avianese tried to forget it due to their rather shameful ancient "negotiation" methods.

The island is dotted with numerous statues to great leaders, champions and diplomats of tge many flocks. Arrayed in a circle around the dais that you might now see in clam citadels.

However, the ancient avianese would negotiate in a rather fowl manner.
For you see, they are birds. And these are statues.
The flocks would caw, squawk, and shrill with the occasional ... You know ... While trying to mix in attempts at diplomacy. Whether it be mineral rights, flock migration passage, and even the occasional political marriage.

Ages of these negotiations, and the millennia that followed with island being unscrubbed has created a fowl stench that would scare off an aberrant specter at 5km.

But the ages have also provided a kindness. For you see, these ancient droppings produced a powerful secondary, that when refined, could help to not only calm the shapeshifters. But might even lead to a permanent cure to their addiction

But alas, the issue: while the island can be transported ... No one can stand the smell.

Phase 1: collect the calcified guano
Phase 2: process it
Phase 3: finish cleaning the statues
Phase 4: potpourri ... Lots and lots of potpourri and incense

Oooh! Design an island? I’ve had this concept for a while, though it may be a bit ambitious/may not fit thematically.

Inverted Ruins

This island, founded a few hundred years after the Aviansies returned to Abbinah, was a city ruled by a wealthy merchant with a hoarding problem. It was at first rather innocent—he mainly just hoarded rare trinkets and money. But this was not enough. At the height of his power, the greedy merchant-king used his mercenary army and Caelomancers to steal entire islands, fusing them to the city. His dream was to become a God and unite all the islands of Abbinah into one gigantic sky-continent. He never attained Godhood—for he failed to locate the Elder Artefact—and his fusing of the islands greatly destabilized the massive, sprawling city, causing it to flip and sink to to the lowest strata of Abbinah.

It still floats in the lowest area of Abbinah, the most dangerous area of the dangerous planet. Players will be exploring around the ruins of buildings on what used to be the underside of the island. Due to its abandonment, various creatures (which players can catch for Hunter exp, and perhaps hand them in to a store at the starter area for some other rewards such as recolorable tail feather overrides ) have taken up residence here. Players will need to have a certain Agility level to move around in the ruins. It should also be dangerous to stay out here for too long. Rocks will randomly fall from above, and pervasive lightning—which, like the lightning on Freneskae, is attracted to the player—will be out to zap you.

In addition to the Hunter and Agility, there will also be some entrances to the inside areas of the ruins, but some will be blocked. For some, you may need a certain Agility level (higher than what is needed to climb around in the ruins) to squeeze into, or a certain Thieving level to pick the lock, or Mining to remove rocks blocking the way.

Another idea I have for an entrance is that you have to actually “lure” a lightning bolt to strike a certain spot to blast away a magical obstruction.

Inside the ruins, one will first find shelter from the dangerous environment outside. The place could be designed as a way to get to other unlocked entrances of the ruins quickly, akin to how the Shifting Tombs entrances can get players from one district of Menaphos to another quickly. There could also be: creatures, which you kill to possibly get lore drops, locked chests (which you might need to flip upright, requiring a certain Strength level, considering that the island has flipped and the chests are now on the ceiling!) containing trinkets and/or lore, or perhaps some puzzles. The main room could have a ceiling (which is now the floor) mural, parts of which can be examined for lore-y tidbits.

So overall, this kind of an island would be a chance to develop a really odd environment, and explore some ruins for exp and lore. Perhaps it’s a bit ambitious for this project, but it could be an idea for a future addition instead. :)

Island of Lost Feathers
An island that has many feathers. The avianese that travel here come to mourn someone or something they lost.
Each feather contains a fragment of one of their memories.
Each will tell the tail of something that happened on Abbinah, with Armadyl, or the God Wars, etc.

Not all feathers will have a memory. But the feathers can be offered to an altar of memory for prayer xp.
Viewing a feather with a potent memory will award divination xp.
Players will also need to hunt for the various feathers, trying to feel out which ones have memories, and which ones do not.

Arbitrary fun idea:
Pitch me an aviansie island.

Oh man, neato.

Here's my idea - the singing reeds .

On several of the islands of Abbinah, snippets of birdsong can be heard intermittently. One small, separate island has a mess of dried reeds and stalks (probably 12 for chromatic or 15 for two diatonic octaves), which can be 'played' like a pipe organ. There are a few stone bird statues nearby, which can be selected to change the timbre of the reed tones.

Playing the same birdsong melody heard on another island will cause a new aviansie NPC to appear on that island (the source of the original birdsong) the next time it's visited. Some potential ideas on what role these NPCs might play~

>They are scouts/emissaries to the rest of Abbinah, and unlock additional lore on the other biomes of Abbinah, Aviansie culture, history, etc - basically, all the world building that isn't directly relevant to the quest
>They will fly the player back to the reed island, allowing it to function as a shortcut hub
>The last-called NPC is a traveling expert that can offer some specific, temporary skill boost (like Oldak's RC boost)
>The NPC for the island that last had its birdsong melody played provides banking services and prayer renewal
>You can dance with' em

Another thing I think might be interesting is an Orphan Eyrie - a creche for the eggs and chicks of those aviansie who have succumbed to the harshness of Abbinah. There may even be some newer younglings - children of those who perished during Armadyl's 6th Age assault on Bandos.

It's a nice idea, but even the "small" graphics you've suggested for it are a fairly substantial amount, certainly using the Lost Grove as a reference made me balk. ;)

But I rather like the lore idea behind it, so there's stuff there that I could potentially adapt. :)
