The point behind doing this is that it mercy kills the quest series.

If they aren't going to do it the justice of making a real quest series about it, might as well bring it to some end, tell a lot of lore, and give us pants.

Right -- I understand the point. I'm not opposed to it. It would be infinitely better than nothing at all. I was just trying to think if it'd ever happened before. Like I said, I don't think it has, but hopefully that's not a sign that it never could.

I think this is very logical since the more interesting quests did not emerge before The World Wakes.

I disagree completely; There were tons of interesting quests released before The World Wakes.

* The Chosen Commander
* Ritual of the Mahjarrat
(as someone above already noted)
* Desert Treasure
* Monkey Madness
* Recipe for Disaster
* One Piercing Note
* Rune Mysteries & Rune Memories
* The Branches of Darkmeyer

etc.

"Unfinished story-lines aren't cared about by most players according to past surveys. That's why they aren't worked on.

We have to focus on what's right on the game, only a niche number of players have done them."

Sorry that you don't agree, but according to Jagex...

Congratulations on agreeing with the surveys.

But, you're equating apples and oranges. I said nothing about whether or not players care about older quests or older unfinished storylines; I said that plenty of interesting quests came out before TWW.

Those are two entirely different things.

I acknowledge and accept the survey results. I can't speak to whether or not I think they're accurate because I don't interact with many RS players these days; When I play I tend to stick to my little bubble. I have no reason to believe they're inaccurate.

But I was not talking about the survey at all. I was talking about "interesting quests." That's why I referred to "interesting quests," and not the survey.
The best things in life are h i dden. You have to seek them out! :D

I can't speak for all those who took part in the surveys. However, personally, I don't care about older quest lines because they are not that INTERESTING to me comparing to the newer ones.

I don't know why those who took the surveys and showed that they did not care about the older quest lines. There must be a reason or two, or more. Perhaps they might find some older quest lines "interesting" too but the voted for the new quest lines perhaps they are more interesting than the old ones. :)

More importantly:

The fact is Jmods said they are not developing old quest lines because players asked for that.

This year's survey has mentioned the possibility of a new Vampyre quest, so it seems that's on the table if the demand is there. :)

Personally, of all the lingering questlines, I want to see the Gnome saga get concluded. It's been eight and a half years since Prisoner and the Gnomes have kind of been brushed to the side by the Elves what with the Elder God storyline. It would be nice to see more Gnome involvement with anything related to the fallout of Guthix's death, and given their technology I'm amazed that we haven't shared Invention secrets with them. Someday, Arposandra, someday...

From the Survey about potential quests:

"Much has been said about the origins of Zaros, but Zaros knows most of it to be
lies."

That's interesting. I know Zaros lied. I know he plotted to have Mah killed so he could hopefully be promoted to Elder God... but I did not know even his origins were lies.

Perhaps Zaros is not really a child of Mah, or not even from Freneskae? This quest will be very interesting if they make it. :)

I suspect that they meant more about Zaros' actions on Infernus, Vampyrium, and ultimately Gielinor before Zamorak stabbed him-- Seren has never contradicted any of what we know about Zaros' upbringing on Freneskae, so unless she's lying too...

Combined with a couple of teases about the return of/visiting Forinthry in other parts of the survey, I feel like there's something about the former Empire that's going to be gamechanging if the lid gets blown off of it. So... here's hoping that there's enough interest.

It is hardly surprising if Seren lied since we already knew she told perhaps the biggest lie in the Mahjarrat history - Ritual of Mahjarrat.

Even Guthix lied about the deaths of Juna's sisters. Everybody on Gielinor lies. :D

Except for the guy in GE spamming ''doubling legit'', you can totally trust that guy.

Regarding the vampyre content I rem there was, at some point, the idea of players being able to travel to Vampyrium via the World Gate and that we would be greeted by a friendly vyre- similar to Mazcab.

I don't remember that being discussed. All I remember is Zaros talked about Vampyrium and Vanescula (sp?) talked about the Drakens and an abusive Lord Jor-something at the end of River of Blood.

Since we know Zaros is a liar now. Nothing he said is trustworthy anyway. Perhaps if you can show us some links about the World Gate we may have a discussion... but even so it may still be just a lie a Zar may actually be Bob the cat after all. :P
