You should look into Path of Exile Supporter Packs, which contain exclusive items and see how much people are willing to shell out for that fact. And yeah, it's really just that, bragging rights. It happens everywhere. Look outside, fashion brands do it everywhere. Some people dish out hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a pair of sneakers, or a shirt with a specific logo on it, or a hat.

The point is, you don't decide what is or isn't valuable for other people and there is demand for this sort of thing. If there is a demand, you better be fair about it or you'll get... well... this. People being pissed off and rightfully so. This was a tragic random bug, not a competition, so why are there trophies? Be the change you would like to see in the world.

Uhh, how are these trophies?

This is a compensation pack for a mistake on their end.

How anyone can blow something like this oput of proportion this much is amazing.

No ones being rewarded for anything.

Not being able to read and understand is, again, your problem not mine. Myself and other players here do not necessarily ''respond'' to your posts, we quote you simply because what you say is material in regard to how this decision to give exclusive items to certain players is harming the community.

Let me start by saying i'm also against rewards that are event gated, and I do like how jagex is reimplementing them here and there, like those cosmetics which are available from todays update. So while you should not get them for free, they also souldn't be locked out from you account forever.

Now awensering your first question, it doesn't matter if they are cosmetics. One could argue that everything is a cosmetic in an online game, but i'm not going to.

It matters simply because people like me and the others would want those available to us. That alone means they have a value, so again, it doesn't matter that they are cosmetics.
Otherwise you could say that every other cosmetic and title and pet could be given out for free, or made exclusive for whatever reason simply because 'it doesn't affect gameplay'.

I also wanna say that i do respect your opinion in the subject however. I know for you, and many others, cosmetics don't matter.

That brings me back to the first point i made on this thread, that the majority of locked players don't care about exclusive cosmetics. You saying that we shouldn't want it, weights in favor of my argument.

Also about the account selling/buying. I'm well aware that it is against the rules. however as many pointed out, these rewards incentivizes it, which we would not want.

Just like i want all holiday items available to me, yet thats not going to happen.

What does this "value" have to do with anything?

Just because something might have a "value" to someone doesnt mean they should get it, otherwise i would have all cosmetics that i want.
