The question to Dominicolle is if they complain so hard about luck, why don't they just buy a wide selection of past and present Halloween events rewards from the H'Oddments with the almost 90k H'Oddments they have already gotten?
*Facepalm*
^^
Please read Dominicolle's post again. They flat out mentioned they didn't get ANY holiday items other than a specific two. They didn't mention anything about anything rare and valuable. Again, my question to Dominicolle remains, and you don't appear to be Dominicolle who can answer this question.

If you believe this event sucks in P2P, try playing it as a free player.
No parties, long gaps between pumpkin spawns, mostly garbage rewards, not even a damn teleport to the event host (as we had for previous events).
What happened to the notion of holiday events being fun? They didn't even deploy the spooky decorations this year!
A pitiful effort, Jagex - assuming you put any real effort into this latest MTX-fest.

No parties? I don't even have to go to the 1k player worlds. I just my last party on W123 with only 500 total players online and there were like 100 of them in the party.
The Pumpkin Smashing Party doesn't require MTX at all.
In my first line, I was crystal clear I am talking about F2P, so whatever you do or see on a members' world does not apply. There are NO Smashing Pumpkin Parties for free players.
Since the Grim Harvest promo does not award oddments, and Daily Challenges do not grant TH keys in F2P, obtaining keys as a free player is currently only practical through completing quests (assuming you have not done all the F2P quests), or hoping you earn a few keys by playing the game for an extended period.
Oh wait...there is another way - buying key packages. There is your MTX. Is it required? Obviously not. Is it "encouraged" as a way to make sure you can claim all the limited-time goodies? Absolutely.
It is common for RS3 events to have member and F2P content, but it is still far more generous than events that are only open to members in OSRS such as DMM, Leagues and Boss Bash Raffles.
F2P can still use TH as they are also guaranteed free daily keys. Obviously F2P don't care about MTX and they don't have to because the reality is they can still get TH rewards for their free keys.
Daily key. Singular. Unless we buy them - which is MTX. QED.
I've been putting out fire with gasoline!

Free players get a FREE daily key too, in case if you don't know. Free players are guaranteed to get at least something from the H'oddments Store withthe FREE daily key, ON TOP of whatever they win from luck. QED.

Red herring hyperbole.
Everybody here knows F2P gets one free daily key. What would that one key yield? Either junk such as a small star + 50 h'oddments, or 100 h'oddments if you elected to convert your crappy prize - which is what I would do. Even so, 100 h'oddments does not go far in the store, so you can stop pretending that it does.
All you have proven is that Latin is one more thing you do not understand. Ironic, considering what QED is short for, and how you totally misused it.

Complete nonsense. Each day free player got 1 TH key free. In the 15 days the Grim Harvest event ran they got 15 TH keys and at least 750 H'Oddments on cashout. Twelve (12) TH keys would fill out the Progress Bar and give us either 800 H'oddments instantly or 8 TH keys or at least 400 H'oddments more.
So we every free player would get at least 750 + 400 = 1150 H'oddments or likelier 750 + 800 H'oddments as the 800 H'oddments bonus from filling up the Progress Bar is far more frequent.
There were many cosmetics on the H'oddments Store that cost 750 H'oddments only. QED.

I'm getting pretty sick of the game catering to rare item economies. You either get stuck in FOMO hell grinding rares you probably won't get or try to ignore the otherwise pointless and poorly designed event. Then you have to choose between moving on from not owning the event item or pay way too much to buy it off someone else. Then there's the not so rare stuff that everyone has but can't get rid of because everyone already has it.
Chasing RNG for rare drops sucks. It's the worst thing about bossing and there's no need to turn holiday events into that too. They were fun back when you just did something for your own personal untradable reward. Even the token system was less grindy than the pumpkins so the grindiness is just getting worse.
I think it's pretty scummy to set up the smashing pumpkins the way they did just so you have to pay for time limited autoclaim buffs to stop worrying about it. With all the lag, sometimes the pumpkins spawns straight up couldn't be interacted with before they'd despawn, not just missing them form inattentiveness.
Then there's the parties, which were needlessly made members only despite F2P having access to all 3 areas. They went through the trouble of temporarily making the fort fully built on F2P worlds and allow access to the pumpkin patch but apparently the pumpkin parties were a step too far. Not only are they cut off from the main source of pumpkins and the party specific drops but they also have to run a fair distance from other teleport locations to do the daily ritual at the patch. The event might as well not even exist on the F2P side of things since all they got were the occasional smashing pumpkin and whatever MTX they were willing to engage with for TH. It's a really bad look alongside the hero pass issues.

The "rarest" tradeable item from the Halloween event is selling for just 1.4 bil gp street price. It is nice to have but not exactly that rare and will affect much. Note that we can get Orlando Smith Hat selling for over 9 bil gp, Dark Onyx Core for over 7 bil gp, Tavia Fishing Rod for over 4 bil, Hazelmere's Signet Ring for 4 bil gp etc etc from just playing RS3 outside the Halloween event.
To me, the most valuable rewards for this Halloween event are the untradeable H'Oddments Store items from previously years.
