when i first started in 2004. it was a friend who got me into it. and many other friends from school. and with that being in school we got bullied because we played it? i dont know why it seemed to be the thing to bully people over. so people knew, so for a while i did keep it a secret because past experience, but now when it comes up usually met with "ohh ive played that etc" so not anymore but for a long time i did.

If someone asked directly, I'd probably be honest & say I did. I'm not ashamed of being an RS player, but equally, it doesn't provide me with any sense of achievement/pride, or rather I don't need to "brag" about an RS achievement & get positive reinforcement from others. I'm quietly proud of what goals I've achieved in game over the years.

So, it's more a secret because no-one has ever asked directly, and I feel no need to bring it up.

was very long time ago, im sure they had their issues and acting out on others was a way to deal with it.

It's not really a "secret", but also not something that is brought up in my 'everyday' interactions with people so it naturally isn't something I talk about. As far as I can remember, it was the same back in the day - I had friends in my main social circle that played anyways, so it wasn't abnormal to talk about the game with them, but anyone who wasn't part of that circle - it just wasn't something that was discussed or asked about.

It's no secret.

I also got my SO into it too, and they are passing me up in so many skills and wealth in the game lol.

I don't just randomly bring it up, but I love when it somehow slips into the conversation. It looks like a lot of people have at least played the game before, and I have no issues / am not embarrassed to say that I still love playing

That is an Anime Main Character Legendary Life Story in the making right there.

However I agree. I get picked on a lot and people talk behind my back at work because I play RuneScape. Tis why I just don't talk to people in real life anymore and become and extremely distant person. However, I appreciate the RuneScape Community, it's something I look forward to when days just get annoying.
