I am sure everybody including Forbes and the real world regulators know "online players" aren't "playerbase" of a game. Online players are just online players. Forbes and the real world governments recognize RS3 has millions in their player base.

W/e derailment you say, im glad to see youre out of arguments, cant beat truths and statistics after all, OSRS has more active players that RS3, as shown by the official websites.

What? OP talked about two things: "Online players" and "players". They are not the same. They are two very different things.

We see 100k-ish "online players" but that number means nothing to "players" of a game. Forbes and the real world regulators recognized RS3 has millions of players, not just the "30-35k" obviously flawed number someone tried to misrepresent.

I don't see OP tried to talk about what games has more "online players" or "players" anyway. He just asked for two sets of numbers, not any comparisons.

''The runescape3 online player numbers on the main page are combined with the OSRS or is it that each game has 80 to 100 thousand players each?''

This is what OP asked. And the simple answer is that one page holds the total amount of players spanning over the 2 games, while the OSRS one shows only the OSRS players. For example right now there are 109k OSRS active players and only 29k playing RS3.

The actual answer to OP's question, that we can even ask Jagex, Carlyle Group as well as real world regulators is:

The online player numbers on the Runescape.com site is a combination of players on Jagex's runescape games, and neither games has 80 to 100 thosands players each, as we know from Jagex and real world regulators as well as world acclaimed financial magazines, just RS3 alone has millions of active players.

Given the fact that OSRS displays a different number, not even to mention that everyone already knows the truth but we like the fun here, it means that OSRS shows the player count only for itself. Given then fact that out of the 138k total players playing 109k are OSRS active players it means that the leftovers are for RS3. Its even worse if others jagex games are on the line as it would mean even less for RS3.

Nonsense is nonsense.

Couldnt agree more, luckily the right true track is that OSRS player base is bigger than that of RS3 at any given moment, no matter how much the numbers fluctuate.

RS3 playerbase = millons. Forbes recognized it. Fukong Interactive and Jagex submitted it. Real world regulators accepted it. Whatever "online players" OP mentioned is just leftover to RS3's actual playerbase. OP may feel free to ask event regulators like the UK Companies House and Shanghai Stock Exchange.
