RS3 was 20 year old at the time of the interview. There is no OSRS statistics/numbers, regardless how hard some may try to pull out of we don't know where with flawed logics.

RS3 was released on 22 july 2013. If you are capable of using google im sure you can also google ''which game has more players, OSRS or RS3''. Or you can just check the official numbers. Rn there are 112k players playing OSRS and only 29k playing RS3. Making the OSRS player base bigger than that of RS3. Now regarding the flawed logic, this place is full of mysteries, I quite rem the rage some had when we got Fossil Island in RS3.

RS3 is Runescape. It is released in 2001. We all know the 20 year old game (at the time of the interview) when Runescape, AKA RS3 now, celebrated the RS20 Anniversary.

We all know they talked about RS3 when they talked about the time line of the Steam launch and Archaeology as nobody can mistaken it with OSRS which had no such skill and no such Steam launch at that time.

RS3 is Runescape, and Forbes knows who they are talking about. They didn't mention anything about OSRS's players compared to RS3 players whatsoever, and understandably so because they are only interested in the Archaeology, Steam Launch, the full RS3 game on Mobile, flexibility of payment and game play etc, but not on such meaningless "huge" number of "online players" pretending to be the entire world.

No they didnt mention anything about OSRS player base compared to that of RS3 because for them Runescape is Runescape, as a whole, and the article was about a business. The offtopic forbes mentioning was brought by you as a life boat to your laughably wrong statement that the OSRS has less active players than RS3. Luckily we have the official websites to prove us the gap between OSRS and RS3 player base, OSRS got more active players than RS3.

Of course they didn't mention OSRS number because they talked about RS3 player numbers. They clearly recognized RS3 has millions of players regardless what "online numbers" are. It clearly showed us "online players" of RS3 is only a tiny fraction of its actual active players, but not all their active players.

I am sure everybody including Forbes and the real world regulators know "online players" aren't "playerbase" of a game. Online players are just online players. Forbes and the real world governments recognize RS3 has millions in their player base.
