OSRS is not RS2. We only have Runescape 3 which is the continuation of Runescape 2.

Private RSC serves are against the rules of Jagex. We don't want to touch them with a 9,000 ft pole.

OSRS is RS2 with recent and regular updates. Private servers are separate entities.

This is totally untrue. RS2 has Summoning and Dungeoneering to say the least, OSRS absolutely doesn't have a thing.

On the contrary, you may say RS3 is RS2 with recent and regular updates rather. All the RS2 content including but not limited to Summoning and DG are still in RS3.

By the same logic, we may say RS3 is RSC with recent and regular updates too, so no need for another RSC.

It's not untrue; why do you think it's untrue? OSRS is RS2. It started as a carbon copy of a 2007 version of RS2. It's still the same engine, style, etc. RS3 is RS3, not RS2. Hence the name RS3? You could say we are stars because we're made of particles from stardust, but that's not the point.

There clearly is a need for an official RSC server given how many people want it and play on private servers. You claimed there was no need for RS2 after it was removed/prior to OSRS and look how wrong you were. You'd think that would have humbled you a bit...

"carbon copy of a 2007 version of RS2" isn't the entire RS2 at all. It only had 2 years of content since RSC, and have been missing 5 or 6 years of RS2 content

I wrote no need for another RSC. I didn't claim anything about RS2 especially when it wasn't removed at all. RS3 is the continuation of the entire RS2. RS2 was never removed as it was never a different product than RS3.

The current version of RS3, is actually officially and legally, the Runescape we started playing from 2001.

Jagex actually had a new product of the old RSC, but it was cancelled in 2018. It had totally separate from Runescape (RS3) and OSRS anyway.

You're just lying now. You did indeed say there was no need for RS2 after it's removal. Now that OSRS is such a massive success you're eating your words and claiming otherwise.

What I wrote:

"By the same logic, we may say RS3 is RSC with recent and regular updates too,

." - Page 4, Post 10

And you quoted on Page 5, Post 1.

I absolutely wrote about we don't need another RSC (not RS2) which is what this thread is about, right?

This seems to have been gravebumped just to argue over the semantics of OSRS and RS2, which has nothing to do with this thread's topic.

Closing this to prevent additional gravebumping.

RSC is not coming back. See in the RuneScape Classic: Farewell news article for details.
