Who are the new company and why should Jagex give them their codes? Jagex just bought a gun for hire developer in Pipeline Studios. They have their own company and developers to develop new games. They are going to give their games to just a random developer and risk having over 9,000 illegal private servers.
Jagex wouldn't be giving anyone their codes. The only thing they would give is the name RSC which the dev company would use as part of the licensing agreement.

Why should they, and again what company? If the other game is not RSC, calling it RSC is like putting lipstick on a pig.

Why should they? For money.
What company? Use their contacts within game industry and see if anyone is interested.
It wouldn't be RSC? Call it RSC Reborn then.

Jagex Partners did interview with over 100 developers and came out with partnership agreements with Flying Wild Hog, Snowcastle, Outlier Games and Melvor Idle. They just don't call Spacepunks, the Earthlocks series, This Means Warp and Melvor Idle RSC or RSC reborn because they are absolutely not RSC or RSC reborn.
Proven wrong? How come simplistic games like RSC was removed? Nobody even knows what beetle bit is.
If you think OSRS is so good then why do Jagex need RSC? Why don't you just play OSRS?[
Yes, proven wrong by that; they removed RS2 and now that it's back with >triple the population of the current game. Battlebit peaked at almost 100k players this weekend, it currently has over double the population of RS3 online (>40k.) We already went over why RSC was removed; a mistake by Jagex. Just like with the removal of RS2 as is clearly shown by it heavily outweighing the current game in population.
I do play OSRS, but would love to play classic too. There are multiple private servers that get accumulatively hundreds online so clearly there's a want and need for it.
Yes, OSRS is good and so is classic. They are different games; why wouldn't we need both? Clearly players want it...what are you on about?
RS2 isn't removed. RS2 has progressed in time and become the very RS3, or simply Runescape as it is officially called. RS3's population is higher than ever according to even current Jagex CEO in an interview with MCV/Develop Magazine. He is talking about real player engagement.
I guess most of us who are familiar with the game industry will just stop reading your post when you think Battlebit Remastered a simply old game. Remastered is a bland new game much like the modernized RS3 we are happily playing and Mod Pips happily championing now in 2023. It is also a very complex in the shooter genre. They even have tanks, helicopters among all kinds of combat features even Valorant, Apex Legends and such don't feature.
RS2 was removed when RS3 came out. There was no more RS2. The vote to get it back as OSRS after the private server community showed how popular it was and how many people wanted it. You just said you didn't know what it was. I'll stop replying to you now since you're denying reality and

Jagex could release it as a mobile game I suppose if enough people genuinely want it back. Might be popular there, but I doubt it.
Oh YES, just spend god knows how much developer time (and money) porting the entire game over to mobile, where you admit it probably won't be popular anyway.
Sheer genius.
If battlebit is really getting 100k online and minecraft is as popular as ever then they could tap into the market without spending a penny. Look around for another developer with experience in these styles and offer to licence the rights.
None of these are simple, old MMORPG that RSC and OSRS are. When OSRS is having such a problem with mobile, what makes you think Jagex can even put RSC on mobile, and I am not even talking about how long and how much money Jagex will be losing upfront.
RSC was already on mobile...it's a browser and java game.

RSC is already compatible with mobile. It was a purely browser based game and you can use said browsers on mobile/android/ios. The private RSC servers almost all have mobile versions or browser play that work on mobile. Enough people already do want it back....hence this thread and all the private servers.

OSRS is not RS2. We only have Runescape 3 which is the continuation of Runescape 2.
Private RSC serves are against the rules of Jagex. We don't want to touch them with a 9,000 ft pole.
OSRS is RS2 with recent and regular updates. Private servers are separate entities.

sounds easy enough, set up an RSC world or two! it would probably be a real pain. but, y'all are a solid team and i know you could do it. i'm sure there's alotta reasons why it's not feasible, but forget all that, runescape classic is a vibe foreal. i really miss that game. i think everyone would be surprised at how many people would play.
at one point y'all were teasing us with talk about it being playable again. you know i'm about that rsc life if i remember all that, cuz that was well over a decade ago.
Runescape Classic for the kids! (who are adults now.)

This is totally untrue. RS2 has Summoning and Dungeoneering to say the least, OSRS absolutely doesn't have a thing.
On the contrary, you may say RS3 is RS2 with recent and regular updates rather. All the RS2 content including but not limited to Summoning and DG are still in RS3.
By the same logic, we may say RS3 is RSC with recent and regular updates too, so no need for another RSC.
