We have more information on the rewards of the new City of Um Easy and Hard Diaries on the RS Wiki now:

Easy:

Free teleport to the Um smithy (10 per day)
Dropped bones and big bones are sent to the focus storage (toggleable)
10% chance to make 4-dose necromancy potions while in Um
2.5% chance per impure essence of receiving extra runes from Runecrafting
+ 3% XP from dispelling ritual disturbances

Medium:

Dropped baby dragon bones and wyvern bones are sent to the focus storage (toggleable)
10% chance to make 4-dose super necromancy potions while in Um

+6% XP from dispelling ritual disturbances
+5% necroplasm from rituals

With this information, personally I will definitely try to complete the City of Um available diaries ASAP, as it will definitely help my outputs of Necromancy Potions. To me the Diaries take precedence over leveling a little faster.

Dropped bones sent directly to the Forcus Storage is also a very useful feature to have, especially when we will be killing bone droppers left and right with Necromancy.

I hope that the toggle will be easy to do from anywhere, because you can pick up a lot of bones real fast and they were saying that you wouldn't need absolutely huge quantities of bones to train. I also wonder, which takes precedence? Bonecrusher or the teleportation?... or is it a toggle where you can choose between them, but only one of the 3 options (crush, teleport, or drop-to-ground)? Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

We may pick up bones fast, but they will be unnoted, so it is still a real pain. We can use a bone noting Monolith Power, but it can now be freed up for better use.

yeah, I know - for necromancy purposes this will definitely be useful, but what about when we have enough bones for our necro-training purposes? that's why I was wondering about the quick switching. Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

We can sell them, if we aren't IM. If we are IM, perhaps we never have enough bones.

You may say bonecrusher can grind them for xp, but we are going to have Hard and Elite Um Diaries that will sell high valued bones to our Focus Storage. I don't think many people will want to grind Reinforced Dragon Bones worth over 100k each.

so if you want to afk completely, im doing this method for 1m-1.2m xp ph entirely afk.

things you need:

5 abyssal beasts in your POSD (the small room)
blood reaver binding contract
torstol incense
lantadyme incense

weapon perks
MH - Precise 6 / ruthless 1
OH - Aftershock 4 (a4e2 would be better but its costly and i got unlucky with my tries)

armour perks
body - relentless 5 / crackling 4 ----- biting 3 / demon slayer
legs - enhanced dev ---- impatient 4 / undead slayer (the only benefit here is impatient)


revo ability bar, everything in the yellow is all you need. but i do occasionally click threads of fate and demon slayer sigil. but its not needed at all.



this is the set up im using. i am using t90 tank gear here, but i will be using t90 power (or if i want to splurge, ill get t95) when using power armour im sure the xp will be even more


penance aura = no need for prayer potions


so yeah if you are looking for entirely afk method, this is 1m+ xp per hour and you only need to click elder overload and aggression potion every 8 minutes.



obviously depending on lvl and equipment this can vary so try it and find out.

My new Necromancy toon is almost done learning the rope with rituals, souls and the Skill Tree mechanics, so it is about time for more action packed adventures with killing. She is not at the Rasial level yet, but Hermond and revisiting some remastered old undead pals with new Necromancy combat and brining them more undead friends created and commanded by me is really great experience.

Of note, for the combat oriented Necromancers, the better use of your time is probably do the highest rituals with the best soul outputs (at levels 30, 60, 90) only. The rest of the time you probably want to spend on your killjoy.

did you just say, the people that want to do combat to train, should not do combat? lol?

if people want to train with combat then combat is better than rituals, because that would be "combat oriented"
using rituals would not be combat if thats what they want to do. especially if you have to afk. rituals are terrible.

i got 120 on rituals im happy to now train it with combat only as afk. so i can play my osrs account.

if you really want to nit picky about how to train. combat till 60, boost to 66 for multiply ii glyphs. then get 4.5k souls for unlocks. then train with combat till 90. then 90 you use rituals with attraction glyphs, boosting to 107 with overloads for attractions iii.that would be best xp pathway.

Absolutely not what I wrote. I mean players who prefer combat over non-combat activities (note: not just for leveling but also for fun and rewards), can minimize their time spent on rituals by just doing rituals when they get the maximum number of souls at each of the 3 tiers of communal rituals.
