a wee update now. i forgot to add stuff to image before.

got some BIS gizmos ready for when augmenting the weapons / armour and some potions annnndd ushabtis filled with souls of various monsters

Any idea if perks like crackling/ aftershock will work for direct xp rather than faster kills after the combat changes? Looks like any poison damage will no longer give xp.

Do we have any idea what the Praesul Codex might be used for?
It's a large chunk of change to lay out :P

It'll be used to unlock the lvl 99 curses necro equivalent of the other combat styles. If you don't go bossing though, the lvl 95 curses are just fine. That is presuming that we get a lvl 95 to match up with the others ofc. I'm sure we will from some other source.

Ah, thanks for that, makes sense now.

New things to prepare for revealed just now:

"As we closed out development on Necromancy, we also have a couple of additional requirements not shown above if you want to be truly Ready For Everything:

86 Archeology (for a Quest at 75 Necromancy)
Small quantities (less than 150 of each) of the following archeology Materials ( Ancient Vis, Blood of Orcus & Imperial Steel)
66 Magic (for a Quest at 75 Necromancy)
77 Dungeoneering (for a Quest at 85 Necromancy)"

So get yourself 86 Archaeology, 66 Magic Dungeoneering, while DXP Live is still on!

86 Archaeology is required for Orcus Altar in the Al-Karid digsite. It strongly hinted on Orcus, of course. Perhaps Duke Orcus will be brought back to life?

66 Magic is needed for the Magic Guild.

77 Dungeoneering is required for Necrolord in Daemonheim. Hardly surprising here, as Necrolord Yudura has long been hinted in the Fremmenik Sagas over a decade ago, being the event of the
Strange Power

"You won't need to bring anything in your Inventory with you, but have your wits about you, and be mentally prepared to take on an all-new stand-alone combat style!

If you've never really given combat your full attention in your adventuring, don't worry. Necromancy has been built from the ground up to be accessible but deep, with a rich and rewarding tree of skills and abilities to master as you progress. You'll be able to grow in power as you move through the story naturally, and you'll be guided every step of the way."

Just be mentally prepared. You don't need to even pay attention to combat as you will be learning a bland new combat style the bland new way. Just treat your learning process as an adventure. For that reason, I strongly suggest those who haven't started Archaeology to give it a try. It is going to be great learning a skill just by living an live adventure.

Tip: Do NOT do T2 Rituals at the level you unlock them. Be 10 levels OVER that level.

Wait until you're +10 levels above the required level. Your speed drastically increases as you level up. It is actually faster to carry on doing T1 Rituals. But the best way is to do combat.

Tl;Dr

If racing, do NOT do T3 Rituals at the required level. Do combat until you are +10 to +20 levels over the requirement. Then you will get drastically faster souls to unlock higher Talents faster.

Seems like Jagex has shown beta testers more information the past couple of days. We have seen an Eurogamer editor giving us a well written comprehensive writeup on their exciting early journey into Necromancy, now we have also seen our some resident RS3 content creators showing us more on the last day preparation videos. For instance:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXOu5WoQTFo&t=326s

We should be able to learn the rope of Necromancy just like what we did with Archaeology. The first 2 quests will guide us to equip and operate our gear as well as how to level them up.

We are also going to have a 3-man cap instance of low level "troll" cave in the City of Um (similar to the one in Burthorpe I guess). This area is probably the best for our low level experience... and who else is not low level when we all start with Level 1 Necromancy? :)

I'll also pay attention to the quest narrative too, as they will be very useful not just in helping us to learn Necromancy, but also prepare us to understand the lore behind the upcoming stories perhaps for the next couple of years and beyond.

^ The ghost trolls in the cave drop the new cape, but ghost hunter backpack might still be better. The reward from the tasks is a new pocket slot item to finish the set and should help with ritual rewards or use Bik for more xp.

Pets will be hidden in the area, so I guess carpet dust won't work either.

Yes, The RS3 Team has surprised us even more with the release of Easy and Medium City of Um tasks tomorrow too, rewarding us with a Tome of Um. Benefits of the Tome are still sketchy though, but the new area tasks will undoubtedly also add plenty of new content to play for, especially for the players who are more interested in Achievements type of progression and not always going for the levels and Hiscores or World's Firsts.
