Recoiling is still fine, you still get the drops. The thing now is that you can no longer get slayer xp or trigger quests using the method I found. Abilities seem to always hit now, no way around it. ASA does not work like a trigger anymore either, so I really don't know how we can do anymore combat quests at the moment. Blackston is a Naabe.

@13, i cast weaken on them to get them off the tzhaar u have to protect, and I just recoiled, only a few go on u at a time, fight fight took 45 minutes to an hour
I took 7 rings of recoil, like 500-700 purple sweets, and a full inventory of saradomin brew flasks.
(purple sweets heal 200 each)
(I also brought cornucopia to hold 5 purple sweets so I could heal 1000 lp at once) repeatedly
notes: I wielded a dark bow and *licked attack on the npcs, but since i was wielding a dark bow with no arrows and used weaken with no damage I didn't get any exp

had to click to attack them and spam click 1 which i had set for weaken since you can't just use weaken on them right away
edit: perhaps bothering to target them would let u use weaken right away


more notes: the creatures only hit like 300-400 max
more more notes: I had a lp boost of 2083 from varrock armour 1, rune mysteries/memories hat and bottom, klank gauntlets, rainbow boots, skillcape, and dark bow 200m hp Exp / Frost Fox

From the recent Patch Notes:
"The Constitution reward from *tolen Hearts and Diamond in the Rough are now lamps, so players don't have to gain the XP if so desired." :D

Time to test real quick. :)

Edit 1: Well that didn't go too well. Got to just after the jail scene and went to enter the cut-scene for the next event with Kellie and I got the 50% load screen 3 times in a row. I was using a previous trial out, now f2p to just run through and get the reward but gave up after hitting the 50% screen 3 times. Apparently have to watch a 15-30 ad as soon as you log into f2p to play... so yea. If i have time over the next two days I'll start up another trial and fully test it out, seeing if we'll just need recoils for the combat stuff. Blackston is a Naabe.

im so happy they changed that :)
like last week i went to go try sorcers garden and found that i couldn't exchange my squirks for thieving xp (because osman is inside the castle and you cant get in there anymore without beating the quest). i ended up sending a bug report and suggested changing the quests rewards lol. i'm sure there was alot of people angry about that though!
if anyone has time to check ratcatchers out, i'd love to hear. Fear the almighty Woo Lord ...

One of my Player Owned Ports missions bugged out and it looks like I have to stay logged on for the entire 2 and a half hour but after that I'll begin a trial acc and start working towards Ratcatchers and test these 2 quests out.

I too ran into that problem with the sq'irks when it was released. :p I have about 500k thieving xp stored in the juices, was much funner for me to do Sorc. Garden than pp before the EoC update. Now pp isn't too bad as the damage is really low still at 30's and as long as no one is opening the sarcophagi there isn't too much damage to take other than the occasional scarabs which hit 250 off the bat. Still like Sorc. Garden for how little you have to click. :p

Edit: Stolen Hearts is rather easy to do and the recoiling part can be passed without a hitch. Don't need any lp boosting gear for the bit of recoiling, they were hitting solid 1's on me. Can just target and cast a curse to lure all three of them on you and speed up the recoiling a little bit. Ozan and Leela also help during it, but unlike Zanik in Death to the Dorgeshuun, they give no xp when they kill or help to kill something, which may mean Zanik might do this now. Once the quest is complete you will get a hp lamp like the patch notes says and you will have repeated access to Osman to turn in Sq'irk Juices.

Now a slight problem came up afterwards, I couldn't start Diamonds in the Rough on the trial account saying it needed to be a member despite being in a members world. -.- I'll see if it will fix itself another day, if it isn't then I can't test Ratcatchers or Diamonds in the Rough on a trial account.
