First off, I feel compelled to say it, wow. Just wow. I must congratulate you on an amazing guide that not only opened my eyes but convinced me I've been playing this game all wrong for the last 5+ years. Your point is a valid one that most of us can't comprehend, or simply don't wish to acknowledge.

You remind me a lot of one of Runescape's greats. I shan't mention his name, but he too realized the true value of time. Whether or not others appreciate your effort here in educating our community on our folly's, I must let you know that I appreciate your efforts. I found your guide so compelling that I literally logged into the forms simply to post here.

Perhaps, if you have more time in the future to continue working on this guide, you can include more common errors us Runescapian's commonly make. I loved the common Magic vs Willows argument that you put to bed.

Overall, keep up the good work. I liked this thread so much I'm off to go check your other two.

~Shea

You say that you should train slayer and combat together, because you would gain that exp anyway. But if you have a high combat level when you start slayer, than you can kill tougher monsters and grow slayer levels much more "efficently." I don't know what the rates per hour would be for each choice, but at least slayer would be more fun than if you did it fighting garbage monsters with a lv 3 character.

-RARRRRRRR!!!

P.S. You did an outstanding job with this thread.

Wow, thanks guys =D. I never expected such positive responses while I was writing this!

Glad to know my work is appreciated, and I'm thrilled to be mentioned in the same sentence as one of Runescape's greats =D. (By the way, you are allowed to mention player's names on the forums as long as it is not negative, and they are not the "topic of conversation" ;) )

About the question about slayer... Yes, there would be some postives that would come out of waiting to train slayer, but once again we must look at the X:Y ratio: Time saved versus time given up. It would require more calculations and actual tests in-game to figure out exactly how much time you lose/gain by waiting to train slayer, but I believe that starting slayer earlier is more efficient in the long run.
