There was a Palawag from Edgeville
looking for something that he could kill.
He's not very strong;
it didn't take long;
a goblin beat him up at the mill.

Ha ha ha! Love it Pala!

And don't forget everyone, any submission of a RS related poem here will get you a smiley in FC for the month of March. :)

May your sheepy soul gracefully graze in those great green pastures in the sky Shooey!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘Schaaaaaapje’ was a hardcore, yet no gentle ‘Little Sheep’;
She roamed the streets of Port Sarim its safety for to keep.
Her bow was keen, her arrows sharp, her eyes were quick and bright
And when our ‘Sheep’ was on the watch, no man e’re dared to fight!
Yet rue the day – that dreadful day – when pirates landed there;
They rushed the jail, they killed the guards, caused havoc and despair!
Our ‘Sheep’ was quick upon the scene and entered in the fray,
Supporting others in a fight with shots from far away.
And yet alas! Abandoned she! Her allies fled their foe!
So pirates, three, with cruel glee, piled on her, to her woe!
She tried to run for safety, yet there was none to be found!
Our little sheep, the sacrifice, her blood staining the ground!
A tale’s now told in Port Sarim, that on a moonlit night
When sea mist steals in from the east and hides the streets from sight,
A ghostly Schaaaaaapje walks the pier still guarding those she loves,
And twang of bow, to listening ear, her faithfulness still proves.
RIP Schaaaaaapje
And another HCIM in our F2P Iron community has fallen! :(
Im-Hezeh never shrank from mortal strife,
In true hardcore fashion he spurned the jar of life!
He laughed into the face of death, his voice was wild and loud,
Until that fatal day when he faced the Ankou crowd.
Distracted but a moment, his character fought on,
His addy 2h slashing amongst that deadly throng.
And yet, there were too many! Beset at once by three
They cut our Hezeh to the ground and howled with dreadful glee!
Alas for brave, strong Hezeh! We’ll ne’er see you again.
Not even deaths of all ankous could e’er assuage our pain!
RIP Im-Hezeh
We will remember!
Oï everyone!
Just a brief reminder of the FC event that I'm organizing in April.
~ The Great Bandosian Might Contest ~
a) What will it consist in?
I devised this month's event as a kind of combat tournament, but, mind you, not any kind of combat tournament : a Bandosian one! Basically, the idea is to organize a ruthless duelling contest between all the Ironmen and Ironwomen from our beloved Friends Chat. It goes without saying that I planned to form groups of players according to their combat stats and combat level. Thus, players with roughly the same combat aptitudes would fight each other, until there is only one survivor left in each group : the last warriors standing would then be awarded a well-deserved smiley, and - supreme consecration! - they will be deemed worthy of the Big High War God (and of Diana, his earthly counterpart. This is the reward you crave for, right? Razz).
I would also request that the players interested in this event post their combat stats below at least three days before the event starts (that is, before Wednesday 19th April), so that I have enough time to form optimal groups and to ask for your opinion on the way I distributed all the participants.
b) Where will it take place?
You remember that, thanks to a fairly recent update, we can now duel each other anywhere in the RuneScape world (you can indeed right-click a player and select the "dual" option)? Well, I figured that the area surrounding Bandos's remains (near the entrance of Goblin Village, north of Falador) would be the ideal place for us to joust : not only is that location pretty relevant to the theme of our event - that is, a Bandosian fighting contest -, but the participants can also easily use Bandos's shambles to recharge their Prayer points between two fights. Be endowed with the Bigh High War God's Might and assault your opponents like there is no tomorrow!
c) When will it take place?
The practice session (optional) :
I reckoned it might prove beneficial for the contenders to take part in a great practice session first, before actually venturing in the tournament proper. This optional session could take place on Saturday 15th April or on Sunday 16th April (I assumed the weekend would indeed be a preferable option for us all). All of the participants would then gather in the free-for-all clan wars arena, and would be free to challenge any player they want. This practice session would be a good opportunity to find out what your weaknesses are, and to figure out how you could improve your combat skills, before proving your strength during the actual competition.
The tournament proper :
The event as such could take place on the next weekend following the practice session, that is, on Saturday 22nd April or on Sunday 23rd April. As I said above, all the participants would gather near Bandos's remains, where they will be reminded which group they belong to before we initiate the competition.
N.B. : Considering that this event will start right in the second half of April, Treemaid suggested that the victorious challengers would be awarded a smiley for both the end of April and the month of May.
d) How will it take place? The rules :
In order to minimize the disparities that exist among players, I deemed it best to set a couple of rules in order to ensure equitable - albeit BRUTAL - fights.
The first rule is debatable, and I mainly write it here to ask for your approval or disapproval. I figured the best option would be that we all stick to Melee as a combat style. In this way, we won't be able to exploit the "combat triangle" mechanics, and only pure strength will determine the winners (this is a Bandosian contest after all, right?). Imagine how ridiculous it would be if a mage was pitted against a ranger, or a ranger against a warrior in his own group... Furthermore, another reason why I suggest that we stick to Melee is that the most part of T50 (and lower) melee defensive equipment is available to all players, while the array of Ranged and Magic armours is fairly limited for us Ironmen.
Whether or not we decide to stick to Melee, switching weapons during a fight will be strictly forbidden. Thus, for instance, switching from Gravite Longswords to a Gravite 2H won't be allowed : if you start with a weapon, you finish with that same weapon!
Again, I submit this suggestion to your approval, but I think we should forbid the use of abilities such as Sacrifice, Devotion and Transfigure, since these are only available through World Events, and not everyone owns them. (Following this, if we choose not to restric ourselves to Melee, we should also forbid the use of Warpriest and Ghost Hunter armours.)
We should also decide on whether or not using Gud Raider equipment will be allowed. I personally think it should be allowed, since it doesn't provide a massive boost compared to other T55 Gravite weaponry. Moreover, I think that being able to draw on Gud gear will appeal to people with a pretty high combat level. But again, your decision!
Food and potions will also be strictly forbidden.
