Q: Do you understand that we ask that you to
a - attend at least one event/gathering a month whenever possible?
b - spend time in aesop clan chat so that we may all get to know each other?
c - attend at least one meet & greet or event during your 30 day trial?
a & b - participating in an event or gathering once a month "whenever possible" ascertains whether or not you are truly committed to AESOP. However, with the use of clan chat, this isn't necessarily the best way for some people to show their commitment. Participating in clan chat works just fine. The "whenever possible" allows for different schedules, family, friends, etc. We are pretty flexible on this sort of thing.
c - we do ask that you do your best to attend at least one gathering/event during your 30 day trial. I suggest attending one of our weekly gatherings at the citadel on Saturday evenings; we've been doing this since day one of AESOP. This is the "meet & greet" or as we call it "m&g" referred to in c. Our m&g is not mandatory but many AESOPs enjoy meeting up in the game once a week and chatting um, 'in person', as it were. Sometimes there are 3 AESOPS at the m&g, sometimes there are 15-20. And we try and do an event afterwards. (Again, it is never mandatory.)
I can almost see you flinching over the words "committed to AESOP". Frankly, AESOP isn't for everyone. Sometimes, we are a little too laid back for some people. Some people struggle with our rule of keeping the talk in clan chat 'pg'. (More on that later.) Please don't be alarmed by the word commitment; those that are comfortable in cc have no problem with it, and those that aren't don't stay with us. That's why the 30 day trial is for both the applicant and the group; it really does help to determine if AESOP is right for you and vice versa.
