The Last Triumviri
By Fall of 2018 Rome knew only flourish. Since 2016, revenue - which originated from Proto and Pax's own pockets in the beginning - had soared to 1.3 billion. Additionally, another billion is estimated to have been used in TRE expenses. Rome averaged a population of 450 at all times, and statistically eclipsed the Top 50 clans both during the September DXP weekend and on average (statistics by RuneClan). The Citadel, at the heart of Rome, exemplified an era of Gold with it's lavish gardens and gilded statues. Rome rested at the top of World 60 as not only the largest faction but also the most influential.
However, by October Proto - heavy with personal obligations - was prepared to release his claims to the throne. His final meeting paid homage to earlier days, taking place at his personal villa (POH for you laymen) where power was transferred to Paxos (Pax Bellum). The Triumvirate that began in August of 2016 - Auzy, Proto, and Paxos - was now down to the last Triumviri.
Pax assumed sole power on October 2, 2018 - his first legitimate claim to the title since 2012. SuaveyMojo, the longtime Princeps Senatus, was named Prefect alongside Spye (who last held power as Legatus under the Susi regime of 2011). Vince PharmD was named the new Princeps Senatus, and forced to reconstruct a Senate filled with many holes and vacancies as a product of many long, tenured Senators resigning in the weeks prior.
By 2019 Proto had rejoined the political scene after being tabbed Vince's replacement as Princeps Senatus. Since October TRE had secured a second Top 50 finish during DXP and essentially maxed its citadel. Additionally Pax established the Office of Scribae to handle all media aspects and appointed Odin and Rhyno to spearhead this endeavor. TRE's first monthly newspaper, the
Acta Diurna
, produced its second volume by January 9th, 2019.
