It has always been a problem that R Quark has had a lag problem on ranges and their street trends. This is because we try to use the most accurate, but most recent price. This would entail to have ranges based on the previous 10 'legit' trades to ensure a detailed margin of their previous price. This range is not supposed to reflect the current trade market or day to day trends. If we tried to capture these daily fluctuations in the street trade market, we would essentially be introducing new methods of indirect manipulation and inaccuracy of value (since it's impossible to constantly be updating the range for everyday usage based on known trades)


It's fine to post your own ranges as long as you say they are not r quark official. Many people are lazy and don't actually look into the actual street value and just refer to the quark range which is sometimes misleading because they don't know how old the range actually is. Providing ranges based on day to day operations is okay to help people see the 'most recent' street value as long as they aren't in a running line.

It's not okay to post your own below max ranges, because you are trying to do the work of a fc with only 1 man as you said before Motherland. This provides the problem of manipulation as you are often posting old and inaccurate prices that can mislead people into thinking a price is different than it truly is. (this is different than street trading because tbh, anything goes, but in the ge there are legitimate conflicts that can occur from older prices) If your ideals is to do the work of a fc, you should NOT be associated with r quark as you have your own system/way of pricing rares. Since this wasn't your true intention and are lost in trying to find yourself, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and
accept
your appeal (although never directly added).

[continued] 'bashed' on the discontinued item status thread or in game via fc/cc. You may be added back onto kos for failing to comply with the fc and thread specific rules. If you have a problem with any non-rank you may simply add them to your ignore list and if you have a problem with any ranks you can speak to any admin to have the rank be examined. Derailing the thread may also cause problems, but simply discussing street rares and their daily trends (as ranges) is fine.

Posting any new ideas for the R Quark friend's chat to adopt is fine to post on this thread and discuss but it's not a guarantee that the proposed change will get enough support to become a viable change.

I'm optimistic that this will clear things up between the conflict that is imposed here but hopefully in the near future the fc can introduce a way of reducing the severity of the Quark ‘lag’ in ranges.

People have a hard time quitting. I assume that many would keep trying to double the same amount or more until they're satisfied. Statistically if you double your bet every time until you win you are more than likely to be down money (due to loss of funds).

For example if you start with 50k and try to double it to 100k via betting 1k, 2k, 4k, 8k, 16k, 32k. You are unable to lose 5 or more in a row because you won't be able to support the bet at 32k. If you try to gain money by doing this strategy the probability of getting to 100k is only 37% even though you have 50/50 odds of gambling. The odds at best are 50/50 but they can always go down based on your approach.

Oh never mind, I thought you asked what effect it'll have on rares, not will it work on rares. I assume it will if this is a legitimate thing jagex is making and not just some teaser to cause panic.

But rares would be a good way to gamble your bank, and I don't think Jagex would want that......? (so i wouldn't be surprised if they went back on the "any tradable item", and placed restrictions on it lol) o.O Andy Murray to win Wimbledon 2022.

As you all know player A has been around in the rares community for many years and has been through many ups and downs throughout his career. His place in the quark community has been very unique. He’s made many enemies of the clan chat and friends chat but still enjoyed the high value market. This player had a very successful run in the market and is going to soon call it quits. Before calling it quits though, player A thought it was a great idea to try to change the R Quark system, some of which was in dire need of adjustment. Although his thought was nice, his ideas were messy. He suggested his ideas when he joined the clan chat one day and gave very troll like suggestions like only allow rich people into the fc, or only let people with 2b elect ranks. His ideas were easily shot down and thus helped start an extended verbal which eventually resulted in him being kicked from the clan chat. After this he moved onto trying to improve the system on his own. Some of the methods included what he felt was his own prices on the forums, making his own ranges based on what he saw on the street and revile the fc and its ranks to try to get people to realize this new system he was building was better.

Doing these actions would get any normal player on kos immediately, but player A was special. He was around for years and meant to good in the end although taking extreme measures. Because he was special he was given several more opportunities to help the community, although was told that raucous remarks in his methods of change, because there isn't a strong tolerance for people who don't enjoy using the fc. Although he acknowledged this suggestion, he continued to lambaste the fc on the forums and in public. Because of these recurring actions of derailment and remarks player A has been placed on the kos list.
